Should I buy an electric violin or?

And do you know any that are cheap? I want to start playing an instrument again but I am not sure. I really like the flute and violin but I have asthma so I was thinking the flute might be hard. I have played the piano/ukulele/harmonica(lol not really) but none of these was the instruments I really wanted to play they just happened to be the ones available.


Or is there another instrument I should play? What do you play.

No but seriously. String instrument, yes? Well, then there is only two or three choices for you. That would be the guitar, the violin or the cello.

Alternative but also... everything. However it almost has to be an electric instrument anyway due to sound issues (and I like the electric anyway)

Haha I don't like the sound that much. But thanks, I mostly want to know what instruments I haven't considered. (doesn't have to be strings just noting that I have a lack of air problem with flutes and such)

I play saxophone, and would like to try viola. As for violin: everyone (hyperbole) has a normal violin, so get the electric one. I saw some on YouTube, pretty neat.

I bought a bamboo "spirit wood flute" from some hippie today. I'm really excited to practice! I also enjoyed the cello for the very short time I practiced (never got good enough to "play").

would have been $30, but he said he'd give it to me for $25 if I promised to work on going back to school.

I play acoustic guitar and piano. I used to play the saxophone. The electric violin seems like an especially insipid choice of instrument. Since I abhor Dave Matthews Band that might be factoring into my analysis. Buy a cheap trumpet.

In honesty though, violin is a difficult instrument to play. You'll need at least some formal lessons if you want to even be decent enough to dick around on it.

Nice! Hope you enjoy it. Are you getting any lessons or just winging it?

Yamaha should be fine, I have a friend with one and he likes it just fine. I think that given the relative popularity of electric violins, it's unlikely you'd end up with a dodgy one when compared to say a guitar or keyboard.

Wing it! But there are plenty of lessons online so if I just go though those over and over it should be fine.
