As i was walking home from work and zoning out again thinking (i'm actually suprised i'm not run over by a car yet ) i had this idea of danger in trying to explain how my intuition works.

On the other hand how my thought process goes is that i get these sparks of understanding or ideas that i then validate or dismiss using internal dialog along with propriate visual imaginary not necessarily related to sayd dialog, but complimentary in trying to break down the idea, to make it more concrete. it's bit more complicated than that, but i'm not staying at the point anyway now so let's leave it at that :p

Now, danger in breaking down intuition is just that, there could be a risk breaking it, or atleast hindering it's workings when demoting it to something understandable trough language or other means.
There is very high propability that it's imposible to do, but
i'm reluctant to even try.
Actually i have many ideas lingering unchecked against reality as some of the just wont fair well with the languages, internal or external, these are fun to play with tho, but never to be implemented in any kind of worldview unchecked.
Who would want to have small critical hole in understanding to bring entire system down. IT guy, atm :slashnew:

I would like to know your thoughts about this and if you have similar or different aproaches to your own thinking.
Been reading these forums and i very much feel at home here, for once people that have balls to think deep and from many angles.

Oh and yes i'm new here, you can tell i'm into typology and trying to understand these things. Interests come and go tho, what's left is bit more foothold to try and jump even higher.
To be honest i was even bit confused when thinking about myself and my place in society until i found out to be INTP, very interesting stuff indeed.

Sorry if my english is lacking(from finland) and my ramblings... and frustration of all things talking but not showing any sign of thinking, that's yet to come tho

Just to leave you with something not so serious:
it's interesting to think how interested one can be towards his or her interest about interesting thinks.

Mindfucking people since 1984 ;)

What happens when I analyze my hunches is that eventually I figure out where it came from.

"Intuition: the power or faculty of attaining to direct knowledge or cognition without evident rational thought and inference"

Exploring how I got an insight usually turns up information I forgot I ever had or didn't even know I'd gotten. I don't think it imperils your intuition to analyze it. I think you just realize that at some level below awareness you are absorbing even details and your mind, also below awareness, is making useful sense out of all the data.

The ability to explain your intuitive leaps is useful when dealing with people who never have any. Usually they are in middle management. :D

Stop worrying about your command of English. It's good enough to get your point across. Keep posting and it will get even better. Remember, we have a pretty good idea what you're talking about already. :)

I have had similar worries in the past but have come to the same realization as Editor. By not second guessing my intuition but exploring it I am able to come up with concrete data that backs up what my intuition was nudging me towards.

I don't allow myself to think my intuition, because it is intuition, is wishy-washy or not valid. Instead I try to figure out what it is my intuition has picked up.

This is interesting psychologically as people around me tend to be bit... simple and thus i may have gone extreme lenghts to try and simplify my toughts in order to have even somekind of indetph conversations. I'm starved for real exhance of idea as all the talk seems to be always about the past, future, or some very shallow note about external world or another person. I like my friends and relatives alot tho, it's just bit frustrating sometimes.
I'm glad i found my way in to these forums, atleast now i can work towards being more me and less like others. It's like i'v been looking at the world from the sidelines wondering, now i just took a peek to my sides and it's almost undescribeable how easing it's to see others here too :o

I have tought about writing my ideas down, but never got to it fully, could as well share them with you guys instead now ;)

small edit here...

It seems to me that people value more how intelligent they look in eyes of another and less how intelligent they really are or could be. I dont mind coming of stupid, makes it easyer to be lazy. :)

Noticed that i'm reflecting myself on alot on to others here now for starters, lot has build up.

... simple
Things are only complex because there are many simple parts. I'm a very simple man, yet people consider me strange and smart and deep and super-duper sexy. I might exaggerate a scoosh, but my point is that people are not simple just because they're not "deep" or because they don't care too much for logic. A person's many simple qualities all add up to a pretty complex individual. Never underestimate the "simple" people.

I can see that, "simple" was just poor of choice of words :)
I tend to exagrate a bit when explaining to get the actually point across better, maybe that's not very wise in many cases, or with deep people because they can come far enough on their own.

My friend actually referred some rap song to me where there was sayd that "if not mentally developed, later will become deep"
That was almost offensive, in the end he didnt mean it that way  I guess it's his dark humor again :p
How would you react to such an act from your friend?

intuition is like having the eyes of the collective

a sensor sees only from his own eyes.
the intuitive looks beyond, although it also uses its own eyes, it makes up an imaginary drawing board where it fills-out what others see as well. it pretends its eyes reach further, as if all the eyes of its collective are its own eyes.

kind of like "remote viewing", but not in a literal sci-fi sense, more in the sense of reading what some expert scientist "sees" and then incorporating that in your world view. taking bits and pieces from what is picked up by the eyes of others, but without rationally thinking about it, its blink of an eye stuff

Is it that sensors tend to do their experimention/observation from the external world around them and come to conclusions, whereas intuitive people take in this sensory information, but consciously/subconsciously experiment/play around with it in their heads, thus forming conclusions with seemingly larger gaps of reasoning than the initial subject matter?

perception creates objects. perception plays around with its objects. intuition creates different objects than sensation. both types of perception create a huge spectrum of different objects. i don't feel like introducing some example right now, making it seem like those are all there is to either type of perception. the problem is, that the two types can compensate for each other, like shadow and light, so you get lookalikes and so examples (in words) are misleading. furthermore anyone uses both types of perception, they flow together, and form your worldview, but it's like you have a conscious handle onto only one side of this complete picture, the S or the N side, affecting how you "play" with it (all).

I feel I have grappled with a similar issue to yours, and that our thought processes are similar. I too like to associate an image to assist myself in the organization of a concept. I would consider these images metaphorical. Like the image of a puzzle when thinking about how to create a larger image through certain pierces of information (to give a primitive example).
I understand your feeling that actively trying to understand intuition may leave room to misinterpretation, but I would not say this is an unhealthy act. In fact, I think in the long term it is actually beneficial. Intuition may serve you well, but so does a conscious understanding of intuition. In fact, I would say that fleshing out intuition on a more conscious level helps improve the intuition itself. You may get a certain feeling about something, and this feeling may assist you in your ways of thinking in a subconcious level. But if you do not understand to what end this intuition is serving you, it is possible the intuition is false. Some people have more accurate intuition than others, I would include myself in this. And tampering with that in a conscious effort would make that scary. But if you never learn to understand your intuition more complexly than how can it grow?
There are ways to understand it without necessarily messing with it. You just have to be aware of an incentive and test it in reality. Be careful though that you correctly define the incentive as well before testing it.

It is risky, but worth it if you do it right. Just be mindful in doing so. (to vaguely summarize)

Thanks for your input guys.
I realised that i have know actually quite well what intuition is, but never tryed to imagine explaining it and then i got confused somewhere, ugh, my head

Random thought:
Don't you think it's very frustrating when taking another perspective in conversation that may even go against your believes, just to muse you see. And even tho you let another person know your not serious it's still taken seriously, e.g. your idea could be outright attacked in a very passive "i know" way.
It's like some people are afraid to closely examine something that goes against their believes.

I can never stay in the topic can i? So scatter-brained. Ignore this if you want :)
