Ripe mangoes smell like rotting flesh. Pineapples just smell sweet. Pineapples.

Mangoes over Pineapples any day. Mangoes are sweet and tangy. Pineapples are sour and stringy.

It's interesting, kind of ironic, that on a forum where most say, almost proudly, that they don't like small talk and generally avoid it, that a (silly) fruit comparison thread has reached round 4. The process of externalization of even trivial facts and opinions seems to offer a sense of gratification to the vast majority of the population, in moderation. It is an inbuilt human characteristic that helps bind people together, and in some cases, the simpler and more trivial the better. In fact, one wonders if the forum could even stay together if such menial discussion and day-to-day commenting was refrained from. Still, it is clear, that there is some deeply rooted biological reward mechanism for this kind of interaction and social binding. And now, for the epitome of irony:
Mango.

Not convinced this is small talk. It's an exploration of the tertiary function, Si.

IMO pineapples* are more likely to be approached finding them at the right stage of ripeness. I find the taste richer and more satisfying. I find pineapples more yellow on the inside than mangoes. Why mango when you can pineapple?

*If pineapples are a kind of apple, are mangoes a kind of man?

No, it's not small talk... Just something similar.

Maybe I do prefer pineapples? I love mango chutney though.

Either pineapples are a type of pine and mangoes are a type of man, or pineapples are a type of man and mangoes are a type of go :) Most likely neither.

You too can be corrupted. Vote pineapple and I will give you every mango I have. How can you lose? It's win-win.

Every time I eat a mango, I realize just how beautiful life is. Nothing beats the mango! I like watermelon too. Perhaps I prefer watermelon. But mango has that magic watermelon doesn't. Pineapples are one of my favorites too, but they bite to much in your mouth. Fruit > Candy. Always.

How is this even a question? Any thinking person has done the analysis and knows the answer is mango.

Mango loving scum. I'm confident the pineapple is only biding its time as we debate, lulling you all into a false sense of security so that it can herd all of the mango-loving idiots into one place, where it can finish off every last mango sympathizer once and for all.

The pineapple will again reign supreme.

The pineapple just barely eeked out a victory over the banana, so I doubt it's going to hold up against the mango. However, past pineapple supporters might be able to exact revenge by voting for the mango's future opponent...

I'd vote pineapple because I eat more pineapples here, but the mangoes in other parts of the world are so amazing that I had to go with mango, final answer.

Is that what the INTPs of this forum are reduced to? Revenge voting for illicit fruits??

Good to hear you voted mango. Mmm mango lassi... Mmm bhang lassi...

Also, when does the poll close? Can pineapple just tap out already? Or if it insists on fighting we need to have some of those political campaign ads where they slander each other.

"pineapple claims to be a sweet, passionate and caring fruit; when in reality just this past quarter it has said all mangos are Monsanto grown genetic beasts that propose a "final solution" for all pineapple. Please, don't vote mango for yourself, vote mango for your children and your children's children. Keep them safe, stay away from the bastard cousin of the original apple, the prickly monster that is the pineapple. Vote mango"

Or at the very least a play-by-play "ohhh! Mango landed a devastating left hook! Aaand another!! down goes pineapple!! down goes pineapple!!!"

Until we know for sure what the winner's opponent will be, we don't whether that opponent will be licit or not.

Obviously the minority taste is the minority because it's more selective and refined. Why go for what everyone else goes's for?

Vote pineapple* or my name isn't -BigApplePi- pineapplepi

*The big yellow fruit with an oomph to it!

Actually, in the last poll pineapple was handily laying the wood onto the banana (I believe 12 to 7 at the time), and then banana recovered, with pineapple eeking out a 13 to 12 victory. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Instead, prepare your strawberries...

The mangos we get over here are sanitized. Try them in Hawaii or any native habitat and they smell quite smutty. I had a mango canned drink that made me feel like a teenager.

What manner of democratic farce be this? The masses will trample the noble pineapple with their slobbering idiocy, and in favor of the mango no less: the fruit world's Harlot of Babylon.

God save the pineapple! King of all fruits!

Meh. did you ever taste the core of the pineapple? Of course not. The heart of the pineapple is hard and unsavory; its exterior is like the pitted and broken skin of a rhino with sun-charred eczema; it is why you must remove the core and skin to have a chance of fooling yourself that the pineapple can be eaten at all.

The mango is one pompous, extroverted, over-the top flavoured candidate. All spin and no substance.

I've always liked eccentric fruit more; the slightly left-of-field pineapple is just weird enough to scrape in one vote from me, although I'm more on the side of berries. As this seems to be another two-party situation operating under the disguise of democracy, I have no other choice but to go for the fruit I believe has the most support of the berry-factions, so pineapple it is.

*Sigh* I despise politics.

While I lean toward agreement here I don't always trust w my leaning. I could fall down.
