Round 3: Comparing Bananas and Pineapples

What is the point of the poll?

Banana vs. Mango would be much better.

Oranges and Pineapples are clearly sour and banana tastes vaguely sweet.

The mango introduces itself with a vague sweet taste but if you are lucky enough you will ambushed with a mild sour taste.

This is the 3rd round. The mango is probably going to face off against the winner of this competition. Basically whatever fruit seems to get the most suggestions is the one I pit against the winner of each thread.

I think the window for ripe bananas is tinier than ripe pineapples. The banana can just not hold its quality for long. And there is nothing quite like ripe pineapple.

PLUS: If you were being mugged in an alley on the way home from the supermarket, well, you cannot shoot someone with a bananer, but you can definitely scar someone with an unhusked pineapple. Just saying. Pineapples can defend themselves. Bananas are too soft, even in large bunches. I cannot support a pantywaist like a banana; I think a fruit needs to be able to defend the woman he loves.

Notable benefits of pineapple include use as a meat tenderizer, antacid, and being a prime source of B5 and vitamin C (<-Can reference). Not to mention that you can cut off the top, stick it in a pot of dirt, and grow your own plant. Try doing that with the flaccid, tasteless coagulations of seedless sludge we like to call bananas...

I like both...they're both delicious fruits. I'd have to choose pineapple though. It's more flavorful, tough, and rich in nutrients.

But yeah Pineapples are far better than bananas, also slightly more resistant to cyclones. (we had to buy bananas on the black market over here)

I assume you mention starfruit for purely geometric reasons, because I've never had one that tasted good...

And I've got something in mind that'll take down @Cheeseumpuffs strawberries; far more powerful than pineapple, but I'll sit on it until the day of reckoning beckons.

Strange, I bet the region and season you consumed it at that ruined your experience. I live in the tropics and its very sour and juicy there.

I'm telling you, taste doesn't matter. When it comes to bananas, length and girth are key.

Bananas will always win through sheer phallic significance.

Pineapples are interesting fruits. High marks for texture and flavor, and their juice is second to none. But tapping their goodness is very labor intensive, not to mention messy, and they're utterly useless unless there's a sharp knife lying around.

So I must vote for bananas...they're far more accessible.

Accessibility does not matter. In fact, the lack of accessibility is a redeeming quality. Think cars, supercars have a small boot, tricky handling, and can barely fit two people. That is how a pineapple is. Got to pay to play. Banana is the minivan here. You ultimately use the peel to bait others as well.

Banana's are kinda skinny.
