Laws of attraction was the only one that I liked, because the characters didn't like each other from the beginning and I do like contrasts.

Sometimes they're moderately funny, but I can't really dig them. All the problems are fixed too easily.
Heck, sometimes I can tell why would the couple divorce in five years.

"You can't take it with you" is a favourite of mine. Best in a local theatre, which is better than the film.

I guess the plot within the first five minutes (title normally hasn't ended by then) and after briefly sharing it with everyone nearby (thus ruining it for them) I walk away. Some people would call that rude, I however see it as an intervention from stupidity; they should be thanking me. //Jest ;)

I honestly don't mind a little romance to enhance a good story, but when the romance IS the story I put it down to poor writing. Now “War of the Roses” that was a good romantic comedy.

There's nothing better than a good zombie flick, death is such a rich topic.

I saw "Harold and Maude" recently and it was an interesting romantic comedy with a twisted sense of humor. Very off center, which, of course, is appealing to me.
Heh.. that's because it's a philosophical romantic comedy. A weird mixture of dark and light comedy.. it's incredibly unique. Some of Woody Allen's films are other romantic comedies I profusely enjoy.

I'm currently in the middle of Bob and Rose and loving every second of it. From the creator of the British version of Queer as Folk: a gay man and straight woman fall in love. I can't tell exactly where it's going yet mainly because it's a complicated situation.

Bob is a lot like what I'd imagine Jordan to be like; he's a great character.

I call them girl-porn. Unless they're actually funny and bordering on the absurd, like Ella Enchanted, which had me laughing the whole way through.

I, too, liked Chasing Amy.

I also enjoyed Kissing Jessica Stein, which a stereotypical romantic comedy. Mainly because Heather Juergensen was hot in it.

Romantic Comedies are the best!!!

They're so great I capitalized both words and went exclamation-happy!
They have the two best things in life, romance and comedy.

My favorite is "Shaun of the Dead". A romantic comedy....with zombies!

Best. Movie. Ever.

Pretty much.

Simon Pegg is a genius.

I really liked Enchanted.
Does The Princess Bride count? That one just never seems to get old for me.

I like Romantic comedies. In fact Sideways is one of my top 3 favorite movies of all time.

I just watched He's Just not that Into You. It's pretty okay... definitely better than most of the reviews would have you believe. It did feel like it was propaganda to make women think certain things about the way men treat them. It's hard to believe that thin, beautiful people could have this much trouble with relationships, but I guess that's how life is in the ES world.

I love the Princess Bride! I don't enjoy romantic comedies unless I can relate with the main character (I usually can't), and if the plot is unique and less predictable than most romantic comedies.

Actually, I believe that most romantic comedies are just that: more propagana in the "battle of the sexes." Which explains why are they have so predictable and unwatchable.I also can relate to Ermine's inability to identify with the main characters; most male characters in these movies either possess the emotional maturity of a twelve year old, or are deceitful players. Where are the male characters who are honest, mature, and attractive to women?

Noddy, however, did pinpoint one exception. "Chasing Amy" is not just my favorite romantic comedy, its one of my top-five movies of all time.

I was going to ask if the Princess Bride counted too. I don't care for the predictability of most romantic comedies, but can ignore it if other aspects are interesting. I like this one called, "Just Like Heaven" with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo. Anyway, as chick flix go, I like this one because she is not your typical chick in some ways, she's likely a T (maybe an I?TJ-I haven't seen it for a bit). He's a grieving artist, and there's this twist on the life beyond phyical life thing that's both cute and interesting. Oh, and that really funny guy from Napolean Dynamite has a part as a, sort of, medium that is worked in well. It has it's feely moments, but the comedy is good. That lead guy from the TV series, "Grounded For Life" has a supporting part, too.

Princess Bride is more straight up comedy than romantic....

If you haven't seen Love Actually then you really should, even if you hate romantic comedies. I'll see if I can think of any more good examples of the genre. LOL... I happen to like a lot of them, but most are throwaways.

The place between places. That's right, code for l
love actually is made of awesome and win. no two ways around it, yeah just get ya mits on it and let the giggles commence.

however, one love story that I consider a romantic comedy although you will never find it in the comedy or romantic section. Natural Born Killers, that i think is a funny movie. but it unfortunately is the only thing in existence that I consider a lullaby, no idea why other than working like a dog all day in the sun in Queensland takes it out of ya.

I know that INTPs are supposed to despise romantic comedies, but I often enjoy them. They're a guilty pleasure, addressing a side of me that I never express. Not that I enjoy any romantic comedy; whether I can enjoy (rather than despise) a romantic comedy seems to depends on the depth of the characters (I think).
