I was curious as to others opinion of this as I often find I hate repeating myself and will even more often refuse to repeat myself and use the line "Don't worry I was talking to myself".

What about you guys? Is this an INTP thing or just a me thing?

I hate repeating myself but I do it when asked. I usually try to word it a bit differently each time, just for variety.

The worst case of endless repetition is with a mostly deaf guy at work who asks me stuff as he is walking past and can never hear the answer. He claims it's my responsibility to chase after him, stop him, turn him around and yell the reply. It's my position that he shouldn't ask questions unless he is willing to stop and direct his attention to the answer. Luckily I don't work with him that often.

I dislike repetition of any sort. I just can't watch a film twice, except maybe the matrix with at least a few years between each viewing. As to books it takes a very long time before I can re-read them. When it comes to saying something, I'll say it only once. If for example I type out something and then for some reason it doesn't post properly and it's lost, I won't bother re-typing it.

I don't think many likes repeating what they just said. I mean, pay attention, people

I don't really like telling people what I do in life over and over and over again. Or other stuff that many people tend to ask about over and over and over again.

If I have to repete myself I break whatever it is I said down into simpler words. I just assume they didnt u derstand. If I have to repete mysrlf a second time I just say nevermind."

As was said already, if you're talking to someone I'd expect you to be paying attention to them. (This is especially true for me, I cannot multitask / switch between talking and doing something effectively at all.) I put time and focus into conversation, I'd rxpect the other to too. (Hehe "tutu.")

Those times when people say something inaudible..you say "huh?", they repeat, and it's still inaudible so you just go with it..:phear:

I've been trying to make it a habit to get the person to speak much louder(or myself), or at least write it down or something. No one likes it when people pretend to hear and understand what you say. And it just makes things more awkward and confusing down the road.

I would rather someone ask me to repeat myself then to have them not catch what I said and then go screw something up because they didn't understand...

At least if they are asking you to repeat yourself they probably actually care a little bit about what you had to say.

I hate repeating myself if the other person clearly wasn't listening, like they were just tuning me out like they had something better to be thinking about then actually giving me the time of day like a decent human being. I just say, 'forget it' or 'nevermind' if I think this is the case, and usually will only repeat myself once unless I think the problem in our communication is something to do with someone's difficulties literally hearing what I've said.

I can't stand rude people. Fuck all of them. I already feel invisible and worthless so I really resent people that make me feel even worse than I already do. Assholes.

I don't mind repeating myself. That' primarily becausr I frequently have problems understanding what someone just said, especially if they have an accent. I understand people who want me to repeat myself.

When I am called out of introspection to answer a question, i sound like I havent spoken in 50 years, so im generally asked to repeat myself quite a lot. Its incredibly redundant.

I find myself repeating myself a lot, more because I really want that person to understand exactly what I mean, and if that person doesn't give me the impression that they understand - I'll continue to repeat myself. I hate it thought, I know it's annoying for other people, and it's also exhausting for me.

I have an awfully quiet voice, so I'm fine repeating what I've said once, and louder.
Any more than that, and I'm liable to scream, though.

I hate having to repeat myself, a fact that my ESFJ friend hates even more.

On a slightly different note, I find that I often mutter to myself what I last said. It's rather similar to the comic depiction of the character Brick in the American television show "The Middle".
