All right, I will describe you which animes do I like, what do they have in common and which have I watched to the end.
Death Note - Great story with moral, and of course with great characters (except Light, he is only thing that is wrong with it, because he is too perfect - inteligent, with great physical condition, popular and everything about him), and of course the thing which they have in common (described under animes). Watched all parts except the totally last one (37) from series, nothing more (well, the rules for using DN if it counts too).
One Piece - I didn't liked this one so much. It has quickly bored me, because it has got some sort of loop that goes round and round and round... and that is:
1. Enemy shows up
2. Some idiot attacks enemy
3. Enemy proves his strenght
4. The good guy appear to have strenght to beat him
5. The good guy disproves enemys strenght
[This loop aplies to the Naruto series and childish serials too, I haven't so far created it any name]
This have I realized when the diamond guy appeard, when they were recruiting Sanji, so I didn't watched so much, but I mentioned it here, because it have got the secret described below.
Code Geass - Even tough too sci-fi on me, excellent anime, just like Death Note. Great characters, thinking processes, and the secret. Patience, dear friends

AC series - Story great, lots of cliffhangers and the secret.
Well, even I can't resist anymore! The secret, that all of those have in common, is what I like to call One More Mechanism. It is the thing, that makes it better for me. It is like normal world (except one piece), but when there is that one mechanism, the entire look on the world changes for you! If you don't get it, here is the list of them.

One Piece - Devil's Fruit
Code Geass - Geass

If you have some great films to recommend me, throw those here too, but not so much, I would more like the Animes. Thanks
