Oh dear. An 8.7/10. Intentional douchiness is a very risky artform and this is on the upper side, but it's not something I could listen to very often.

Interesting tenor vocal, uncommon range for a female. 8.5/10

My previous post was from a Monty Python film that parodied The Beatles. It was pretty well reviewed by critics.

The audio on this is horrible, but it's sort of interesting at 0:43 when the police turn off John and George's amplifiers.

BTW... That's Billy Preston on keyboard at 1:33.

If anyone is a guitarist, watch Paul's right hand at 1:33-1:38 also. You don't see a lot of bass players who are that nimble.

I haven't read Alan's book, but a lot of people would disagree that he was ever their legitimate manager, or would have been anywhere as effective as Brian Epstein at promoting them.

I'm not sure that he was even mentioned in the Anthology series, but I could be wrong.

If you're at all technical and interested in how they created such elaborately layered music using relatively primitive recording equipment, Geoff Emerick's (recording engineer) book is a great read..

Here's a great version of Strawberry Fields that you may or may not have heard...

When he sings the words "alright" and "bad" in the first verse... it evokes a spine tingling sensation within me.

^ 6/10 - not because I don't like the song, but because I personally prefer the original version. There's a nostalgia to the original that I'm not sure is translated here.

Captain Beefheart's a hard thing to get into on the first listen but I thought I'd put this one up as it's short and sweet. :)

7.5/10 I like Captain Beefheart.

Here's the original version... but wait.. is it?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VX1F1D7y6FI&feature=related

The original version was an edit between two extremely different versions also, that were recorded in different keys. When the speed of the tapes were altered in order to make the pitch consistent, it was a lucky break that the tempo matched as well.

The difference in this one from the original occurs at 0:56.

Parts of this one were edited with the one above to make the original. It sounds like it's playing too fast, but that's because it was slowed down so that it would be in the same key.

9/10. Great vocal talent and just the general nostalgia of the thing.

And now for something from someone with (imho) just as much vocal talent (especially performing live in the genre in question) and a slightly different stage presence who may well have been the last true rock star:

Go into advanced reply mode and check the boxes under additional options that say "Automatically Parse Links" and "Automatically Embed Media".

Now for the part where I stop being nice :D. 2/10, and -5 points for featuring a .22 rifle.

Have a dose of Karen O:

9/10 - It seems like Jack is avoiding eye contact with the woman he's singing with and that's bugged me every time I've watched.

Then you have to spam the board with 15 more posts. That's how it works, if memory serves.

6/10, but I seriously doubt that little girl can really dance in the middle of the aisle on a moving metro. Also, why is VEVO spammed with Whitney Houston videos? Is it national Whitney day?
