I get these random moments of tranquility where my mind slows down and I'm completely calm and immersed in the present. Any similar recurring experiences?

Do they come random, or can you 'induce' them? For example, i'd stop thinking 'about' things when focussing on something as music. You'd consider that trivial, but honestly, try focussing on a full 5 minute song without your thoughts wandering off. Especially chill songs without vocals seem very hard. (sing along songs make it rather easy.) That being said, at times, I do manage to just, sit down, relax, enjoy WITHOUT thinking. Rarely, but it happens.

Also, how long are these moments of tranquility?
I'm asking these questions, because right now i'm just thinking of times where I'm not thinking (of which I have a few), but i don't think you mean any of these.

They're completely random (as far as I know). Earlier today, I was cleaning my window fan and I just felt quiet (if that makes sense); my mind is usually running at full speed from when I wake up until I go to sleep. It lasts anywhere from 1-5 minutes. I was listening to music, but I listen to music from when I wake up until I go to sleep, so it definitely wasn't the music.

I was at the grocery store today and was staring at the dairy section and suddenly everything in the world seemed to have clarity. This doesn't happen that often. It was after a day in a mildly stressful retail job. Random... but clarity more than tranquility.

Tranquility I can get into a little bit easier. Usually through focusing on my senses.

I have moments where I just, idk, snap out of life for a second? Like, i'd suddenly realise I've been just staring and doing nor thinking anything for abit? Moments where you're daydreaming, without actually dreaming anything. You just sit, and stare, and you see what's in front of you, but you don't think anything, you just stare. Like some delay inside my brain. I don't really have much sense of time at those points, but I don't think they last for a minute, let alone 5 tho. More like 20 seconds =/.
I do get longer moments of 'tranquility' when I induce them, however.

I was listening to music, but I listen to music from when I wake up until I go to sleep, so it definitely wasn't the music.
This 'logic' is flawed. Doesn't matter tho, I get what you mean, just wanted to point it out :D

A full week of lab work ended tonight with 30 minutes in a calm hot tub, the whole section of the gym to myself.
An hour or two of meditation here and there gives me the tranquility and control I need. As long as I get that, I can handle anything.

Mine are also completely random. I call them "happy moments". It feels as if I have a different mindset for a couple of seconds, but I can't really explain what it's like. I think clear and tranquil are indeed the words that fit best.
