See there's two kinds of men, the conservatives who want to settle down, get married and have a family, and the liberal ones who just want to sleep around and have fun.

Literally if you want to turn a conservative man liberal, you have to fuck him as much as possible, heck get your friends in on it too, and as if by magic his views on abortion will radically change.

Yeah babe I totally support your right to have an abortion.
Read: I don't want to lose my lifestyle by being burdened with responsibility.

Likewise when a liberal man can't get it, becoming an incel, it's only natural that if he's not getting any he doesn't want anyone else getting it either, hence why the rise of the right tracks with the number of incels.

I know I'm going to be called an incel for this, I will gleefully allow you to prove my point.

Hehe, this is too black and white I think.

I'd wager that conservatives, or those more right-leaning, on the forum like OP or Old Things would typify me as liberal.

However, while I've had girlfriends, I am technically a virgin. So does that make me an incel or right-leaning? Not really. I also have plenty of liberal leaning friends who are family oriented and committed to monogamy.

I'd echo Hado's advice in a different thread suggesting spending more time listening to what people are saying rather than pigeon-holing them according to your own pre-defined beliefs. It creates a fallacy of only hearing what you want to hear.

People in their 20s want more sex than people in their 30s or 40s

Sex then is based on age meaning those raging hormones are what drives liberalism.

Nope, I won't call you an incel. However, I will question how someone who posted Sic Semper Tyrannis in another thread is cool with tyrannis when it means achieving an agenda if that is what is being implied here. Curious.

You're an incel for this.

Cog has had more sex than I have.

I'll be 37 on Monday, never been with a woman.

Still, has he had any kids?

Nope, unlikely.

What tyranny? Trump is letting each state decide for themselves and FYI a lot of Trump supporters, like myself, are pro women's bodily autonomy.

If you look it up in the dictionary you'll see "involuntary celibate", but that's not how it's used, and so that's not what it means. Incel means more than just not having sex. It refers to the constellation of toxic ass BS beliefs that creates a barrier between a man and women.

Cog was aware of this, that's why he pre-empted the comment. He's being cheeky but he only ever chooses to have a sense of humour about stuff he more than half believes.

I don't see you as an incel. Sometimes you come across as angry and bitter, but I never got the impression you blame women for you not having sex. You have other obstacles.

Anyway, OP isn't true. I'm a liberal male who would prefer to settle down than have sex. I'd even like to have children. But I support the right to abortion. Cog likes deciding other people's beliefs and the causes of those beliefs but he doesn't understand people or how they work. He'd prefer to believe everyone who thinks different to him is either evil or stupid or mindlessly hedonistic than to actually grapple with any idea outside of what he already believes.

You said it, and I agree.

Lucky this is not terminal diagnosis.

I also struggle with this sometimes in some aspects of life. I think its very common nowdays due to lack of social life.

I'm just tickled that some liberal women are responding to a conservative victory by saying they'll behave conservatively to spite the conservatives.

The arrogance and lack of self awareness is astounding and incredibly funny.

I know but that's not funny.

Remember when Kamala was like, "If you vote for Trump, he will take away your porn and weed," and American men showed up in mass to say, "You don't have to sell it to me"? I do, and it's awesome!

As a white liberal male I vote in favor of appeasing the cuckcels.

We must round up all the, and only the white men over 6 foot 2 inches face trials for their sins and ultimately sterilization.

Well, what do you consider to be tyranny? If they actually end up pursuing a ban on pornography and contraception (this one is dubious), that would be quite unpopular and, therefore, tyrannical. In fact, Roe V. Wade was a popular decision, supported by the majority of Americans. Its overturn (not pulled off by Trump, but supported by him and others around him) could be classified as tyranny if its definition includes "rule which goes against popular will." State governments are easier for corporations and other interest groups to control (see Teddy Roosevelt's diary on how state governments were co-opted by elites which led to the Progressive movment's direct election of Senators proposal), and therefore, far easier to wield as mini tyrannies. States's rights, in the US, is usually code for "give it up for your governor," especially when we live in a duopoly dominated by a select few who control the legislative process, party machinery, and information consumption patterns of the public. Anyone, ruling under this system, could be considered a tyrant if they are defying the will of the people (which various studies have repeatedly demonstrated both sides do). I'm not fooled by a "freedom loving" political party that passed the Patriot Act and numerous other curtailments of Civil Liberties.

Meanwhile the political left in Australia is passing the Misinformation & Disinformation bill which essentially allows them to shut down all dissenting voices, basically the Ministry of Truth straight out of Orwell's book "1984"

That is tyranny.

LOL. But seriously, for me, there was nothing anyone said on this forum about why I voted for Trump. I was very critical of Trump and was going to vote for a third party. That was until I learned that this third party was socialist. Abortion is my biggest issue, and I hate how Trump went back on his stance on that (and the GOP). But given that Trump is probably going to be a war-ender rather than letting wars continue on for years and years, that ends up saving more lives anyway.

It's all tyranny. Both parties are an extension of the same political machine. After Jan 6th, many localities cracked down on public protests again, and these crackdowns had liberal support because of the context around the event. Rile up one side and manipulate them, then you can pass your repressive laws. Then rile up the other and do the same.

Trump has had enough of that nonsense.

Trump and Elon and their ilk are not who they brand themselves to be (with VERY good PR). Let's look at X : https://www.theverge.com/2024/9/4/24235213/x-brazil-suppression-speech-elon-musk-india-turkey . Elon will cave to some governments who ask to suppress speech, he has cracked down on "White Dudes for Harris." Free speech is speech they like.

As for Trump, here: https://time.com/5644120/donald-trump-el-paso-shooting-speech/
Blaming video games for violent behavior and justifying crackdowns. The Republican Party, throughout much of history, have always been the one's complaining about speech (porn, profanity, etc). Neither party is for absolute free speech. What does free speech actually mean?

Trump has a million things going on. You can't win every battle.

And the "White dudes for Trump" was not censored. I saw tons of it on my timeline, and I have nothing to do with any of it.

The public needs to be equipped to work within their state because you have more control at the local level than the federal level. That is why people have freedom of association to begin with. You go wherever people are most likely you and organize a community with them.

Vote with you feet. Vote with your wallet.

Definitions matter. Some say "free market" implies lack of all regulation regarding commerce. Some say "free speech" means lack of all regulation regarding speech. I say it is all a spectrum. How many laws against speech or business does it take before one considers a legal system to no longer be "free?" These things seem straightforward on the surface, but surely you would argue that there should be certain laws restricting certain speech (ie falsely using one's speech to SWAT people).

Interesting, it could be said that I am intolerant of trans people but for the most part I don’t believe this to be true, I’ll happily watch the Rocky Horror Pictureshow and sing along, if I meet someone who is trans that in of itself has very little relevance to me. Where I draw the line is the sterilization and surgical mutilation of children and encouraging people to seek out these “therapies” as if becoming mutilated and sterile, with ongoing lifelong medical consequences, is somehow going to make these deeply troubled people feel better.

If the trans movement was solely about crossdressing and pronouns and emphatically discouraged more extreme measures, at least until we have the requisite technology, then I’d be all for it.

I find trans people to be a curiosity, but one I cannot relate to. I do not hold the statements of trans influencers to be representative of the trans population as a whole, as that would be sampling bias. I also recognize that tolerance of intolerance can be paradoxical.
