For some reason, this is something I pay attention to as a an indicator of how recognised someone is/how much curiosity they cause in people. Posts per day (ppd) are also taken into account (lower ppd means higher page views/post, since every post sticks around longer to be seen). Most users have a ratio of about 1/2 to 1, with just a few between 1-1.5. Cognisant is the only other member I could find with a ratio larger than 2 (about 2.5). He has an average ppd of 1.2.

Today, I looked at mine for the first time in a while, and it is about 9.5 (2891/314).... And my ppd is 2.62 which is just above average (new members post more). What does this make me? Am I being targeted by automatic web programs?

I also think that women probably get a disproportionate amount of page visits compared to men, on account of them having boobs.

Therefore, while an indicator can be wrong (in the sense i am using) about the state of the thing it is indicating, a criterion is infallible and absolute.

That's why I don't say "ooh look, he has a ratio of 1.3, people must be really curious about him". I take it as an indicator, not a criterion.

Taking this one step further, I could use the position of my chair as an indicator for the weather tomorrow. This isn't gonna give me accurate data, but it may turn out that the position i leave my chair in depends on my mood which slightly depends on what i expect the weather to be like tomorrow.

I noticed I got way more page visits since I started using myself in my profile picture/avatar (not that I did so for that purpose of course) people are interested in seeing what the person posting actually looks like. Either that or I just got more prolific in my posting, not sure which.
