Im at work, scooping up some rice when somebody asks "max, could you hand me a white spoon?" the first thing that pops into my head is "wtf is a white spoon? we dont have white spoons here." i proceed to inform my colleague of their idiocy when they point over to the soup spoons..... which are white.
i dont know if being an intp has much to do with this, but for some reason i cant seem to handle people not using the exact same words i would use. if the person said soup spoon i would have gladly fetched it, but i dont think of the spoons as white. they're just soup spoons to me. i honestly dont see how other people can quickly adapt to what people are asking of them sometimes. the thought process would have to go something like this i think "what is a white spoon? well its obviously a spoon that is white. what sort of spoons do we have that are white. the soup spoons are white. hand that bastard a soup spoon." in order for me to successfuly get to that point, im sure about 6 seconds would pass.
would being slow be considered being dumb?

Hahaha, Your slowness isn't due to dumbness, it's just that Ti heavy individuals need carefully worded questions in order to properly respond. I tend to do the same thing though, if someone asks me a poorly worded question I'll get distracted with how they went about asking it instead of trying to answer, and then I'll blame my misunderstanding (which is essentially the most frustrating thing ever) on them and get somewhat upset.. so instead of thinking in my head I ask the person the questions that come to mind. If they ask 'can you grab me a white spoon?' I respond 'where is this white spoon you speak of?' If they're vague, I ask for specifics. And then I'll spend the next 15 minutes dissecting their simple question over and over in my head constantly coming up with better ways to have phrased it.

Six stories up.
An adjective I know applied to a noun I know isn't a problem, but if a word I hadn't heard often or ever was transposed for "spoon" I'd be frozen for a bit wracking my brain for the meaning of the word.

Edit: Okay, now I'm sure I'm not crazy. What the hell is going on with the quick refresh of the page resulting in missing posts? If I refresh again (manually), they reappear. It's always the last post or the one above what I've just posted. It's happened a few times tonight.

Who else takes everything absolutely literally, that's lead to more than a few awkward situations for me.

"Give me a hand"
*puts hand out*
*we look at each other for a moment*
"Sorry, I'm attached to it"

How much harder is it to say "help me move this, it's heavy"

Hehhehe...key point being "dissecting..in MY head". Try doing that out loud and watch the room of I-not-t-p's radiate the love for you.

The only thing that would make that scene more unpleasant would be a nice helping of nazis.

ugh. yeah, it's pretty much the absolute worst. i HATE sitting there, awkwardly, KNOWING something is expected of me, and not being able to realize wtf they're talking about.

lately my stock reply has just been "what?" instead of pointing out their idiocy, which only leads to me looking like an asshole. i'd rather look stupid than like an asshole.

I think vBulletin rather rushed 3.8.4. The above may have nothing to do with that; but a number of things don't work.

They're concentrating on the new 3.4 ( which seems likely to be more expensive )...

I thought that disappearing happens when someone edits the post?

Really ? I thought that that was one of the hacks that didn't work...

I've yet to see a notifier --- which is meant to happen; but than perhaps I've not posted on a thread which upon anyone else was simultaneously working.
