Village Idiot
You can choose to live life, or play the game. Which would you choose and why?
I think its basically, do you want to be Littlefinger or Robert Baratheon?![]()
Ehh, neither?I think its basically, do you want to be Littlefinger or Robert Baratheon?![]()
Ehh, neither?
Why do we have to make this binary choice. Reality over time is never binary like that.
I choose both.
Tyrion for me as well.Yeah lol, same. Tyrion or something.
*GoT or ASoIaF
Arya or Tyrion are both good choices! Eddard Stark? or did everyone forget about him... lol Brutal sense of justice, I like it!
He is hard not to like but I wouldn't want to be him. Far to traditional, honour-bound and conforming for my taste.
I'm supposed to be booking accomadation for tonight, but I'm on this forum instead; which GoT character does that make me?![]()
"Playing the game" is for ENTPs and EXTJs. Living life is for the NFs. INTPs excel at doing neither, and floating around, through the abyss, fully aware and capable of both but unwilling to participate in such pointless endeavors.
Not play your game and make my own game. You can choose to live life, or play the game. Which would you choose and why?
Im still a little confused by the premise here, and I only read like 50 pages of the first Martin book before giving it up as not my cuppa, so the analogies are lost on me.
What do "living your life" and "playing the game" mean in this context?
Well, when you put it that way, I will always prefer a life of cats and bacon. Anything else isn't living.well instead of littlefinger and robert one might sort of say ambitious manipulative powahseekah with ruthless strategy and plan vs spontaneous experience-seekah who likes cats and bacon
these are not precise definitions, in fact they are vague and probably a bit off, but I cannot be faulted for this, I have only tertiary ti, so stfu
Sandor, Tywin, and Lord Varys I didn't like in the beginning, but grew on me later, as well as Littlefinger. I think realistically I'd be like a lot like a less caring Jon Snow. Which to me says I'd be like Tywin. But I don't have the social strength/presence that Tywin does, and I lack the completely indifferent nature of Varys. Sandor maybe, but he also doesn't seem to think things through much, so that wouldn't work. Littlefinger...he's highly psychopathic, but I think in that environment I would be like him. It just fits based on how well I've come to know myself.
So I guess I'd "play the game". And try to play it well.
Not play your game and make my own game.
True. Well now I'll be honest.
I've considered playing the game a lot. I began reading 48 laws of power by Robert green, along with some other things, such as all the posts on things like body language and power and such. So I considered it. I don't think it's for me. I don't want to control or influence anybody. Sure, you could argue I naturally do to some point, but I don't really want to.
I haven't really figured it all out yet. Playing the game is appealing but living life seems the better idea.
I did notice that INTPs have a major advantage with heavy Ti up front, so we can pick apart aspects of social interaction, but Fe inferior is a serious roadblock considering we wouldn't want to charade all the time, or be able to completely sincerely fake emotion, interest, sympathy. Well maybe but we might lose to an NFJ in that case.
Can someone please rank the types on a scale where 1=total gameplayer and 16 equals=total lifelivah?
So many characters... Here's a few:
Eddard Stark: 9
Catelyn Stark: 10
Jon Snow: 9
Arya Stark: 6
Tyrion Lannister: 4
Cersei Lannister: 2
Daenerys Targaryen: 3
Jaime Lannister: 10
Littlefinger: 1
Lord Varys: 2
Stannis Baratheon: 11
Hodor: 16
Hmm... I'm going to come back and edit these.
Littlefinger is definitely a total gameplayer, and Hodor is definitely a lifelivah.
