How can I change my personality from INTP to INTJ ? I think life is much easier for INTJs and these persons fascinating me a lot.
Since always I wanted be like Napoleon or Professor Moriarty (from Sherlock Holmes); I wanted to be strategist.
But question is: how?
I believe everything is possible, and hope this will be.

Just upgrade the module in your JP port.

1. Locate module on back of neck.
2. Twist counter-clockwise while pushing down to release safety catch.
3. Jerk head to side to pop out old module.
4. Insert new module until "click" is heard.
5. Insert and turn lid clockwise until it clicks shut.
6. Perform full system reboot.

If you did insert a new J series module, you should at this point feel a strong compulsion to speak tersely, keep your kitchen table clean, and create checklists to hang on your refrigerator or mail yourself at work. Congratulations!

No, this could go horribly wrong as you excluded some quintessential aspects:

1. You cannot just go ahead and pop out a module from a working system. It is strongly advised that you shut your system down at first and dissconect the power cable.
2. While working with electrostatic sensitive devices make sure that you are grounded, usually by wearing an antistatic wrist strap.
3. After replacing the old module and turning the system on, go to the manufacturers website to download the latest drivers for your new hardware.

Enjoy!

I guess the real conundrum is how to get through the process if you shut yourself down before attempting it...

Hmm... Are you sure your T simulator circuit is not busted too?

Manipulator, what is it about your Pness that you don't like?

Perhaps we can point out some of its better qualities.

Sometimes it can seem lesser than it really is from your own head.

Nevermind now. I realized I must be INTJ. Maybe my Perceiving parents changed me a lot, but I tend to think more practical and I am very very punctual. I am very accurate too.

And always I loved all charaters from books and films, who was INTJ.

Idk why all tests counted me as INTP. Maybe because I have sometimes problem with deciding in difficult problems, or I time tables make me angry. I am prostacrinator too.

In the other hand I dont want just know the things, but always I ask myself, why do I need something? I learn only things that I can use in.

What do you think about me?

Ah, and when I speak, I try to use least words

These are shared traits of INTJ and INTP. Do you also write directly and using as little words as possible? Really it is the Sensors that use the least amount of words when writing of anyone. The INTP packs the most amount of meaning in everything they write. At least I think we do. An INTJ would disagree believing that half the stuff we argue about is irrelevant to the concept we are trying to debate. The INTP will think differently seeing the connections that the INTJ does not. The INTP also tends to jump around more. It is like they tackle a topic at many angles instead of a step by step process. An INTJ is like taking the same shortest and straightest route to home everyday and an INTP is like knowing and learning all the routes home regardless of how impractical they may seem so that he can understand the whole area around his house. That is how we think, talk, and act differently. IMO

INTJ and INTP are more separated by how they think functionally and not by their preferences for order or other such attributes. INTJ are more commonly orderly because of how their brain works but that is not necessary a defining attribute. You obviously notice a difference between them and yourself or you would not have created this thread. So I would stay away from trying to convince yourself that you are INTJ and instead discover your attributes, or more so your functions, independently of that and then you can go back and see which best fits.

If you really want help defining your type, give me some details about your thought processes and I will help you piece it together. It is important to know that you have your abilities and potential, you just have to learn how to use them. You have to learn your limits also. if you can determine how your mind works and how you think and look deep inside and find patterns to your processes and your values put it all together, you can change how you view the world and thus change how you act in the world and thus you will find that world will change around you. Remember that to change the world you must first change yourself.

I am INTP, now go back and notice how my writing style looks. Tell me what you observe and what is different to how you would write.

I suggest you visit, also, the INTJ forum. You may find that your view of the INTJ is not what you thought but I could be wrong. You may find me there also. same name too.

If you really want help defining your type, give me some details about your thought processes and I will help you piece it together.

ok, so first: I always have to think, before I do something. I can't act spontanously, I must have everything arranged. Before I start talking I think about what exactly to say and I am trying to predict what people will say. I also like making plans, especially on paper, making fast sketches. But I plan without neatness, everything I make on paper is black without the colors, simple, a little messy. I love playing strategic games and thinking hours about tactics. I dream of being general like napoleon.
When I have to do something, I first calculate how much time it will take me, then waiting to last moment, and then doing. So I never late, I am just in precise moment, everybody say that I am punctual as hell.
I also like to know what others what from me to do something, I must have strict guidelines.
but secondly... I HATE routine, this kill me. Also I very fast change my mind, when I find out, that something diffrent is better. I suddenly give up old concepts, and making anothers. I am always calm, maybe I can say relaxed. I dont worry about anything. There can be End of the World, and I won't worry about this. My room is often messy, because it's impractical to clean up. But, my desk and my computer (for example desktop, all the folders in my disc) are always orderly. I love spratan tidiness.

This everything is very complicated for me, I think I am more P, but want be more J.
socioscope.com tells that I am LII (INTj) but http://www.mypersonality.info/ tells me I am 69% P (95% I, 89% N, 95% T)

I dont know how much of this text you can understand, but my english skill isn;t praciced perfectly yet.

Yes that is very INTP. I tend to plan a lot in my head what I am going to say. When writing I can be obsessive about this. When speaking, there is no time and so I tend to say nothing since I am still thinking about everything and taking it all in. I see many different possibilities to why people do and say the things they do but have to spend time to sort through them and test them in my mind.

My organization is always practical and I tend to organize my thoughts when things get a little messy up there so that I do not forget them. I find things like cutting the grass and putting things away a colossal waste of time. I would rather spend time to my thoughts organizing them and learning what is true and what can be discarded. I feel that simple tasks are not worth doing since I only have enough time in my life to transpire the complex and interesting that most people seem to ignore. I feel that neatness is a waste of time. As long as your handwriting is legible and the notes are understandable you have then saved more time by not being neat so that you can concentrate on the task relating to why you really made the note in the first place.

INTJ seem to be deep meditators in their alone time. They seem to look deep within themselves for inspiration and then when in the outside world they just know what to do. INTP, when alone, seem to be thinking the majority of the time like there is a constant flow of thoughts. The INTP find enough inspiration in the world with all the curiosities and possibilities that they do not need to meditate for motivational purposes. If they meditate it is often to quiet their mind so that they can absorb the world around them. An INTP's constant curiosity makes it easier for an INTP to start a task. The INTP is not likely to complete a task because they feel a sense of accomplishment from the learning and discovery of the task and not so much the finalization or implementation of the task itself. They will usually find some other task that offers much more in the way of discovery and drop the first in favor of it.

The Ne is like a silent part of you that gives you answers to things and you are the one who has to consciously sort it out. I tend to not trust my Ne. I don't know how an ENTP would do it but I would think they would follow their Ne more than they would examine the results with the Ti.

Are familiar with cognitive functions? http://www.cognitiveprocesses.com/Cognitive-Functions/
They are the true keys to understanding Myers Briggs and yourself. The tests and focusing on individual letters are very low level understanding. And I find to be fruitless in most situations.

Most MBTI-esque theories propose that your personality type is static, atleast by a certain age. So if you are in fact INTP, and changing is impossible, you'd be better off attempting to work to your strengths than wasting time trying to become an INTJ. However, just because you tested INTP does not mean your an INTP.

Btw, your english is fine I can understand you perfectly.

Something else is also happening to me. I'm starting to crave more stimulation. I take cold showers, exercise to the point of exhaustion, and can't seem to stop moving around. It's like I'm adopting a certain kind of masochism. I feel much more alive now. Extroversion is increasing, sensing is starting to dominate intuition, thinking still precedes feeling--except the feelings of exhilaration, and judging is overturning perceiving the more I learn and become grounded in relating the subjective to the objective.

I'm almost to the point of wanting to perform at a rock concert--although I have little talent in singing or playing instruments.

I've hypothesized before that the more one is in tact with their instinctual part of their brain, the more introverted, intuitive, and feeling one is. But once you lose your fear of death (and the things you associated with it) you lose contact with this and convert to feeling fully alive.

hypomania?

There hasn't been any backlash from this behavior yet. It's probably the best thing that's ever happened to me.

It's like the stimulation makes me much more awake and at the same time my ego is boosted because I feel like I'm achieving more.

Initially I took a cold shower because I read it helped decrease sensitivity to cold and increased blood flow, but then I found out I enjoyed it--especially right after a work out in the morning.

Join me in a self-awakening!! :D

I've also disassociated myself from my body.

Instead of thinking something like "I'm hurting myself" while riding as fast as I can uphill on a bike I think "This body is feeling a lot of pain, let's see how much it can take." This actually reduces the pain I feel.

Oh and I believe in reincarnation--that every life I have, the purpose is to experience as much as I can. So in the back of my mind I'm testing the parameters of my body and trying to get everything I can out of life. This was my way of eliminating all my regrets and worries.

This is more for the people who are depressed or are searching for something more in life. But it's definitely a personality changer.

Some behaviors are driven by preferences, but our behavior can change at the acquisition of particular nuggets of life knowledge.

I think embracing one's own mortality is one of those moments. Many people run from death or play things very conservatively. When you become willing to accept and even embrace hurt, failure, loss, or death on the way to bigger and better things (rather than running from or avoiding those things), it definitely has a huge impact on behavior.

[I think it makes life better, myself, unless you're taking some really crazy risks... then it also makes your life shorter. :D]

I don;t know what to think about it.
I have problems with motivation, always I ask myself why do I must do something. Sometimes I think nothing have sense, because everyone will die, and I dont believe on this funny religions, so I have nothing to do in my life...

You cannot get past the idea that you're deceiving yourself by accepting religion or meaning of life as true? I can relate, it is like they will deceive themselves in any way in order to be happy.
I have found contentment in my view that religion serves me no purpose.

What do you find useful in the grand scheme of things? What is important in life? What will exist beyond your death, the death of your children? Perhaps each subject will die but not the existence of life. Life is objective and exists beyond your subjective view. Maybe you should consider life itself as being means to an end.

They seem to look deep within themselves for inspiration - I dont really understand what you mean.

It is hard to explain because I don't do it. I only witness it. It is like trying to connect with your inner soul, the peace inside yourself and then find connections with your emotions and how they derive meaning in your life. From my perspective, it is a form of self deception, but it has obvious good effects in how they react to the world.

I have very very close friend ENTP. He is very lazy, and he get very fast bored. He start doing something, then he give up it, and starting new thing and so on. Maybe he uses his Ne too much.
I have very similarly, but less.

Or he does not use his Ti enough. Ti is what motivates you to continuously consider a topic. It is what keeps your interest but it is internal so it does not go so far as to spur you to act on your thoughts. The thing that pushes you to act on your thoughts is by going back to the Ne with the idea that you have been stewing on and allowing it to consider all the implications of your discovery and then reminding yourself that you cannot be certain any of this will work unless you fully implement it.

Things tend to reach a experimental phase from this but it is like moving a mountain to push myself in the very final phase of implementation.

I have found contentment in my view that religion serves me no purpose.
I feel I was deceived by my parents, who are very religious... but I started to read books, learn sciences, psychology, neurobiology, and now every religion is collection of nonesens for me. My hightest value is Truth, and as you wrote, I can deceive myself in order to be happy, because it's stiupid. I prefer to be sad and unhappy than believing ;p (btw, my parents still think, that I believe in God, I just dont know how to tell them I am not, they are very simple/straight people)

Yes, but one day, there will be end of universe, and life will end ;D So, still nothing have sense ;p
But I am trying to live with it, I dont have any better option ;)

The word deceived gives the impression that they knew the truth but lied to you anyways. Misdirected means they had good intentions but gave you wrong directions or wrong advice.

Are they more aware/conscious with thinking?

I cannot be sure exactly how they think since I don't think like they do. I am working on finding out.

Oh and I believe in reincarnation--that every life I have, the purpose is to experience as much as I can.

Depressed response: What's the worth of that experience if you're just going to have another life later? Why do now what you can do when you're dead (and reincarnated)? From where does the ratio of life experience to lives experienced derive its value?

yes do tell us about your pness, is it too big for your liking?

I want to be more organized, decisive and be less procrastinated. Also I get very fast bored and I often change my mind.

I'm trying to be more systematic, but it's very hard. I must feel pression to work efficiently, but then I feel too not-free.

I think J have less problems with boredom and lazyness. Tell me if I;am wrong

Depressed response: What's the worth of that experience if you're just going to have another life later? Why do now what you can do when you're dead (and reincarnated)? From where does the ratio of life experience to lives experienced derive its value?

There is no inherent value in anything. It's what you make it. And there's an infinitude of experiences to be had. Plus, who says your memory will carry on with you. You won't even remember having this life.

Now, it's time for you to drink this ayahuasca tea.

BTw - INTJ (Te), from my recent discussion on the INTJ forum were surprised that I would ask if they could maintain full crisp awareness while thinking and they had the response of "Of course we can!" As if they were saying how else would we think? I wish I could be fully aware while thinking.

I never get bored at least not if I can use my Ne to keep adding new tasks to my plate. I have a troubleshooting/development job, which is perfect for an INTP to exercise his mind. If I keep creating and experiencing I never get bored. The trick is that if your INTP like me, you need to push yourself to be more Ne. Get out and experience and let your mind come up with all these ideas and pursue them. My natural instinct is to stew with my thoughts all day and never get out or do anything. This can cause issues. For me it caused depression and not in a emotional negative feeling but a void feeling where nothing in life has any worth or value. This begins a cycle of doing less and becoming more depressed an thus you feel like there is even less meaning in the world.
If you are ENTP then you need to try to be more introverted and stop and think about things once in awhile. Don't always think you know everything you think you need to know about a subject or idea or experience and instead try to stew a little on it and enjoy it more before switching tasks all the time.

From what I understand and thinking of the INTJ that I know, the INTJ can get bored because they have a hard time of coming up with stuff to do, it is almost like they expect the envirment to challenge them instead of finding their own challenges.
Once they do find a task they can follow it to the end and get it done. They work relentlessly until the task is complete and then they can rest. They seem to indicate that the short resting times are peaceful and good for them. I personally do not like sitting there with nothing to do and twittle my thumbs but to each his own.

So the short answer is that both types can get bored.

Laziness is another issue all on its own. Lazyness for me is external but internal I feel like I am OCD about "Mentality". My thoughts and planning and my constant reshelving and reorganizing of my ideas and thoughts, and the constant need to learn are where I am not lazy. These things are internal and from the prespective of the outsider they don't exist. In the outside world I am left with little time for mundane things, so I appear lazy from teh perspective of most people. I don't pull weeds as often as a normal person would because it is not practical in my view. This makes me look lazy. The only reason for pulling the weeds is for sensual pleasure or the feeling as if you are in control of the world but one is subjective and the other is self deception. I need neither. Finally I don't need to convince people I am not lazy.

A INTJ views most INTP's as lazy. Most INTP's are busy doing different things but from a INTJ standpoint it is not what they should be doing. INTJ think INTP's should be more organized and complete tasks but from an INTP standpoint, they only started the task to learn about it and not to complete it.

There are a lot of possitives to being an INTP and there are disadvantages. The same goes with INTJ and any other type.
