Whilst a lot of you say that INTPs really couldn't read anybody or know what they are going to do, I think this is only in an emotional setting. Probably in a relationship. However, when it is impersonal, I find myself able to know what people are going to do quite easily. And this applies to groups as well... People and groups have consistent behaviour and even if they don't, it is because something has violated their morals and/or idealisms. If I know their idealisms, morals and past behaviours, it is very likely I will guess right in a huge percent of situations. This was a bit short and I could have expanded it further and provided it with other perspectives I have on this but I do not have the will to at the moment.

People are very predictable, especially in groups. But on an individual basis they are more difficult to predict. You must get a very specific read on an individual in order to predict his or her behavior. General rules for predicting behavior may not pertain to a certain individual, so you much assess each individual differently.

The more we learn about human behavior, the more we will become exploited by those who wield the knowledge. It's already happening on a mass scale, population control as I see it. The most recent phenomenal was the film Avatar. The average movie going audience is so predictable that all a movie company needs to do is throw money into advertising and its guaranteed to be successful.

I don't know if on a personal level it is so hard. The reason I said that on a relationship level it is very hard to read people is because in a relationship little actions, mere fleeting emotions, can do so much. Such little actions rarely matter to you on an impersonal level or anyone elses really... By impersonal I mean not in relationship with someone and by personal level I mean a single individual.

Overall I'd say NT's are the hardest to predict whilst SF's are the easiest, this being due to the NT's capacity for reflection upon past behaviour and it's results whilst the SF just reacts to stimuli in a manner that "feels right".

I find myself being able to do this too LAM. I can't really predict what people (ones I don't know) are going to physically do but, their intentions are easy to see. There are a number of ways that a person can manifest what they want to do. Then I think once you get you thumb on a person you can start assigning probabilities to what they will likely do.

As ktp says group settings are very easy. It's amazing to me how different people are in a group vs individual.

I think that once you get to know several thousand people, you'll find that there are members of every type that are easy to predict and members of every type that are hard to predict. I think this issue is more about individuals than types.
