Cauterize I firmly made the decision to watch the entire thing. INTP? Maybe. Could be.

What are we to do now? What are we to think of the ol' guy? There are so many possibilities we must consider them all ..... Now should we report back here when done or go on to the next one?

This was interesting and I think he's on to something.

I often wonder if all of these choices will, at some point, naturally go back down to fewer choices. Computers can only get so fast before the fast and the faster become indistinguishable from each other. Cell phones can only get so small before they become unusable and they can only have so many features before they become impractical. TV's can only get so big and so clear before they can't fit in the room anymore, or be any clearer than what we can see with the naked eye. Will it all taper off at some point, given how quickly we are advancing technologically? Will all of this complexity eventually lead back to simplicity? Isn't the best a kind of natural ceiling?

I am so happy! Thank you. :( When I saw this guy, I saw myself (specially the clothes.) Bet he didn't took a bath for years or something--which is me.

Right....:) uncountable options are always present. If we were to freeze out of that, it should have been sooner.

He's into consumerism or something but if you apply the idea outside products and stuff...I think the idea lessens its credibility. The selections of games I could buy are already as much as he described..and yet I'm able to choose. Though, maybe I just don't get what he's saying.

Think about this. J's do not have this problem. There must be many situations where the choas of infinite choice doesn't occur. Does it HAVE to occur? What would be precipitating factors that would remove all those options, give us a clear choice so that this kind of hell doesn't occur? I'd like to see some answers or an answer for this. TIA.

How about this? To each option assign a value, scaling 1 to 10. Then rank the values. Now your choice is easier. First the options must be listed.

You said, "What if?" We have to check this out. Can't think in a vacuum. Please give an example or two so ratings can be addressed for 10ness.

Hmmm TED does have good stuff. One really can't disagree with what he says. I find it rather interesting that I just posted a thread, basically, about the same thing - there seems to be a "Paradox of Choice' involved in how to invest one's attention, with so many options now available due to technology. I wonder how limiting the choices of what one 'pays' attention to could be facilitated in the best manner?

As an aside - the old method of limiting choices via the O. O. D. A. does facilitate the Decision making process.
