So I'm wondering...what would paradise look like for you guys?

I mean...I would love an eternity alone in a giant garden...to sleep and to think forever. Slowly uncovering the secrets of the world.

With a gateway to come back to reality if I so choose.

That would be cool.

Wouldn't you already have that, then? Your mind is your paradise and everything else is reality?

A Matrix, which I can control and I can do everything by just thinking. What I like about this world is that such technology will probably exist in the future, so I can have hope.

You got me there, Jules. I (perhaps childishly) decided one day to make such a world inside my head. Everytime I go there it becomes a bit more detailed. It's hard though, sometimes, with all the noise around. It's so much easier to think in silence.

Thanks for the link, Ogion :D

Paridise, eh...

I've never really thought about it.

Give me a minute.

*Sits in silence thinking*

Hmm, nope. I could probably tell you my version of Hell, but I can't think what would be my perfect life would be...

I'll get back to you on that. >_<

Somewhere where there is every game console with every game imaginable. There would be lots of privacy but a means to interact with other nerds. People there are nice. Lots of Doritos. Laptop and PC galore...and lots of otaku crap. A nice outdoor view would be nice, too.

I don't think I need a paradise as a place. That's already in my mind, and it's real enough. Now all I need are people to surround me and be nice, understanding, and fun and interesting to talk to.

I agree. Paradise as a single place, or even a single world/universe is much too limiting. Needs change so the ever evolving mindscape is perfect. As for the second statement, don't we all. Fortunately, we're all fun and interesting to talk with here. :)

And the people are nice, which is astonishing since the impression people get from INTP gatherings is that of an asshole convention. So much for pre-judgment.

I agree with "just my mind" is good enough, but the other two quotes have points. I want stuff to entertain me!

I think what Barachai wants could just be an extremely powerful computer program that allows every kind of simulation of anything, as well as an encyclopedia and a way to simulate more. At least, that's what I want.

That is almost exactly what I have in mind. When I was 19 or 20, I was made aware of the presence of a municipal garden area in my hometown (Knoxville, Tennessee). On the grounds was an old, stone, castle-like (former) Freemason lodge. It now belonged to the city and the building had been leased, free of charge, to a few non-profit community-oriented groups (environmental groups, etc). I had a friend of sorts who was involved in one of those groups, and I accompanied him on a visit to the place while it was being vacated - the city was re-appropriating the grounds but they didn't yet have a clear plan for its new use. The grounds were falling into a state of disrepair - there were stone walls everywhere that were starting to fall apart, and the gardens weren't being taken care of. I concocted a plan to convince the city to allow some like-minded individuals and myself to take residence on the grounds for a summer in return for tilling the ground, rebuilding the stonework, etc. The fantasy was to serve as a sort of secular monastery - we'd all take a vow of silence for three months, and bring along as many tomes of information to study as we could read during those three months, educating ourselves and clearing our minds.

In typical INTP fashion, I never followed through with the project, however.:D

The used to give a lot of thought to this but haven't for some time. I suppose I will re-hash my conclusions then.

My paradise would be on remote a tropical Island-- I would have some electrical production capacity (wind, solar, water). It would have satellite Internet.

Haha, that's because they get "assholes" and "nice people with homicidal tendencies" confused...

First and foremost, any paradise created to my specifications would begin as a library. It must be stocked with any book that I may ever want to read, any CD that I would ever want to listen to and any movie that may spark my fancy. Also included would be a rolling ladder to reach the volumes on the top shelves (which should be at least a good 10 feet above the ground), a comfortable armchair in which I could curl up with my books, a laptop with infinite memory and wireless internet. A fantastic stereo system is also a must, obviously. And to finish it off, a giant DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door.

I think that just about covers the basics.

EDIT: Coffeemaker is also essential.

It's like to wonder how should utopia be like.

But... if it were..... then there would have to be my music collection, All the books that i'm interested in, of course, the women that I love:D
But the most important thing would be, to be able to multitask different things within the same period of time you're in - like being able to read and listen music and get full potential of both. Or even to be able to listen different songs at the same time without one disturbing other, or reading two or more books at the same time. I hope you get what I mean.:P

As this is impossible, I would call it utopia, rather than paradise

You read my mind! I always wished that I was able to listen to multiple songs at once. I've tried it a few times to disappointing results.
