I just stumbled across this quote from Pan's director, Guillermo del Torro-

I wanted the faun to have a rock-star quality. Everything about the faun and his personality needed to be masculine because you had to pit the female energy of the girl [Ofelia] against something monolithic. She is surrounded by these Jungian archetypes.

I know we have a few fans lurking about: Any guesses as to the characters' types? Or general analysis of the movie?

The girl seems to be either INFJ or INFP (I do not recall her name). But this is rather obvious, I think.

I think the Captain is ESTJ. Obsessed with puctuality ("15 minutes late," always checking his watch) and properness (stands when his wife leaves the table), systematic, agressive. Yes, definately ESTJ.

What about Mercedes, or the Faun?

And what makes you think that?
We know Mercedes is brave, caring, and that she once believed in fairy tales. It's hard, I think, to see the rest of her personality because of the whole situation. Like: When mindlessly chopping potatoes, was she just distracted? or is she usually not very aware of her surrounings?

The Faun is very upset when Ofelia breaks the rules. He has fairies for friends/pets. He is manipulative (third task)? ENFP?
Note sure about that one.

Huh? I'm a very punctual person and dislike it when people are late, I also have a lot of good manners. If we have an appointment, you better make it on time or have a good excuse other than wasting my time.
