Overly curious

One might say there's no such thing as overly curious, but let me give you an example.

Sometimes I receive a call from an unknown number, or I get an email that my class teacher wants something from me, or I find out that a my classmate wants something from me. Most of the time I'm curious what is that they want from me, even though I want to have nothing to do with them. I also realize that most likely what they want is something I wouldn't like to hear/do/say, but I'm real curious anyway. Mostly I fight my curiosity by logic, but sometimes I give in and find out that i was right about the fact that I wouldn't like that something that they need from me.

Do you have trouble like that? And if so, how do you deal with them? In short - what are your thoughts.

I do that a lot. I'll always wonder why people want things of me or whatever and right after I ask "why?" I'll realize that I probably won't care at all but I still want to know. It usually goes like this:

"Hey, can I borrow (item)?"

"Uh, I guess. Why?"

"Well because I need (item) to do (thing) which I-"

"Yeah, I've already stopped giving a shit. Just take the (item)."

Oh, in these situations, same thing. I hate when people are explaining why they need to do the "why" reason. A reason is enough IF and only IF I ask. However, under certain circumstances, it's okay to listen to the whole fucked up story of theirs. But I've to have a real good agenda.

In fact, in situations like you described I've started being an asshole lately. I just cut them off, it's annoying to listen to their bullshit sometimes... Or, in certain cases I simply ask why and then say no. Depends on the item. I guess I've became a real asshole lately...

I just don't care when it comes to other people's business - like Cheese's talk, but without the why.

I could work for the mob.

But I ask "why" non stopping during class - calculus, chemistry, physics... every class. Although I just raise my hand some teachers don't like my almost abusive interruptions, but then again I don't care, they're never available after class.

I do this a lot too. I never like it when teachers just tell us something and expect us to just accept it so I'm always asking them why things are the way they are and whatnot. Sometimes they aren't that helpful though, which is why instead of listening to my math teacher who's teaching us how to use the formula/equation/whatever that he just introduced, I'm usually trying to figure out WHY the formula/equation/whatever works and how to prove it or disprove it and how one would even derive it in the first place. My physics teacher is pretty good about this, except with the E&M section where he pretty much just said "This is what we call The Right Hand Rule and it works so just go along with that." I don't think E&M is really his thing, but I suppose he has a good grasp of it for being a geology major or something weird like that.

I get really frustrated when I don't understand the "why" of something that is "taught" in class. My general chemistry teacher always says "you'll learn that later on", but ffs how can I learn new and more complicated stuff if I don't have the base?
