Does anybody here know any other forums that regroup (at least some) intelligent people on a regular basis to debate? I looked around at philosophy, science, art and writing forums but they were all so badly organized and messy that I just lost interest. List the other forums you belong to if you think they're interesting. I have a broad array of interests so anything might do.

Thanks very much!

I registered for Quora a while back and have been spammed via email ever since with all sorts of inane looking conversations. I stumbled back upon it today though after lurking an individual of high interest and was pleased to find that they have some extremely good discussions. I just fooled around with different search terms and lurked user profiles for a while and was amazed. Probably going to lose most of my weekend to it :D

I really like this place: http://www.sciencechatforum.com/

There are many different topics, and a lot of the members seem to know what they're talking about (i.e. there are scientists posting in the science forum, and philosophy majors in the philosophy forum..)

Quora kind of feels like INTPforum on steroids with a wider breadth of intelligence.

wrote some posts on quora myself. pre-maturely, my understanding involved since. its purely intellectual and you have to be very dedicated to share a body of knowledge, otherwise you may feel drained because its similar to wikipedia in how you are asked to maintain your past posts or continue to receive feedback about them for a long time. also they same questions are asked over and over again and you will be subscribed to that subject and the temptation of answering it over and over again can be draining. wasn't there long enough to fully understand the structure. many who post there have a professional agenda. counsellors. not a good place for collective brainstorming. sharing hypothesis.

cant find a message board that works for me :(
ideally it should be in my language so i can meet up with people in IRL.
integral places summon elitish highly functional ppl / extroverts. cant keep up with them.
non integral places tend to piss me off. and i piss them off.

any active facebook groups that you enjoy?

i really like to see whom i am talking to. i looked into the mbti groups on fb in 2013. as i recall it, they were rather chaotic, probably because those groups lack specific topics, so people tend to make themselves into a subject a lot. talking about dating, etc.

The Straight Dope message board is tentatively my go-to poor man's discussion search.

It's a real shame that Google canned that feature. Discussions are such an important source of information. I can think of no better way to learn about, say, penis enlargement. Or uh, you know, whatever.
