Most tests seem to base questions off of E vs I , N vs S etc. I want to make an online quiz that bases questions off of the individual functions instea. (extraverted intuition vs introverted intuition, etc) I still want the result to show the type though, for example INTP, not Ti Ne Si Fe. The only programming I know is visual basic, so I would have to figure out how to write programming for a webpage which I most likely won't do haha. I have some ideas for the actual programming though. I think the most efficient way would be to retype all 16 types by order of dominance of functions, making the questions give a point towards the extraverted or intrintroverted. Like iI said, I don't think I will actually ever get around to doing it, but if someone was interested I could probably sit down and write questions. I think this could be somewhat complicated programming wise, and would require good question writing techniques, but could probably be a REALLY good/accurate quiz if done right. I hope this all makes sense...

I really like the idea of that one I guess, but I greatly dislike the whole scale method...I still kinda want to make my own. Like time asylums said, some of the questions are rather sketchy

That test on similarminds sucks. Here's a better one: http://personalityjunkie.com/type-assessment-test-free-online/

It can be even better, though. Some years ago I was working on a functions based test as an application but never finished. I wanted to use a lot of comparisons and the key difference being that selecting B would mean "Not A" instead of "Yes B". People are better at understanding what they aren't like than what they are like.

Some of the questions were pretty strange, but on a whole I like it better than most online tests I've taken. The high Ni is pretty weird though.

They really emphasised the mystical elements of Ni, I normally score higher on it.

Hmm, the last three posters (including me) comment on the Ni results. Maybe those questions could use changes.

This is very true. It's why we are interested in stuff like the MBTI in the first place: to learn more about ourselves.

To the Op: looks like you have an idea for a test curtesy of Spiralhacker

Edit:dammit Patchtrix already acknowledged the idea. Oops

I remember taking a test that supposedly measured the cognitive functions, which I came across on this forum somewhere if I remember correctly. The page was yellow-ish, and my result was INFP (with ENFP or INTP as backups)... I took Absurdity's test a while ago and scored INTP. That wasn't the original test I took though. I took that one because I tried to have this dude take the test I usually link people to, but he said he already took one before and linked me to that one. Figured I'd take it just to see.
I hope that helps, I guess.
