I have always felt lost within this world, but I have also felt that accomplishing big things is within my capacity. I have heard of Myer Briggs in the past, but put forth no effort to inquire more.
Fortunately, at the age of 25, I come across a brilliant INTJ that notices me. I met him three months ago, and he referred me to 16personalities. I discovered I was INTP. Three months and a ton of reading/internalizing, I'm still amazed by how accurate personality types can be described.
With the help of my ISTP wife and INTJ friend, I've finally been successful in becoming more self-actualized. I've always been referred to as an 'old soul', intelligent but kind, a qualified leader in every workplace I've been in (2 yrs Factory, 2 years warehousing with an A.A. math degree 70 hrs away from electrical engineering B.A.). The kindness and empathy (but I still don't 'feel' other's feelings) I have are traits of phase III INTPs, where we begin to try to help others and lift others up.
We find some peace within ourselves when we stop listening to the judgments in our head, accept the fact that we are wishy washy as all hell, but we come through with brilliant action right when it is needed the most (because why do it til we absolutely have to
)
We will always have the struggle of wanting companionship then not wanting it. It's a struggle, not a curse of loneliness. We don't fit into normal social circles often, but we can have those 1 or 2 friends on a similar pattern of thought. It can do much to improve our lives to have people that truly understand. Don't worry about the rest of the people, whom are incapable of thinking like us. They have their place in the world, but it is not within our heads listening to their judgments.
I will likely become an active poster within these forums. I am glad I have found a community to be a part of. I will read your posts, and I hope I can deliver titillating responses
.
Thank you for reading, I appreciate your time. If this post helps even just one person think a little more positively, that makes the world that much better. Any questions, ask away
