Hey there,

Glad to be here.

Who can I PM about lifting an IP ban (and now my email address banned for trying to register on a banned IP)?

I tried registering a couple of times this weekend and felt oh-so cold and lonesome being left outside the gate. (heh)

I'm at work right now, by the way.

Thanks!

It's lucky I replied at all: after typing in the Quick Reply and pressing enter, it vanished with the announcement the message was too short.

Since this has happened before, I usually think 'Oh fuck it,' and am too dispirited to write the post out again ( unlike Tam Carlyle's famous rewriting of his... idiosyncratic version of the French Revolution when the maid burnt his manuscript [ which in my view was no accident at all, guessing what it was like to live in the Tam and Jenny Show ] ). I've always been a quitter, or someone unwilling to reinforce failure, depending on how one looks at it.

And I don't know if it is due to my browser, to KDE manager, to my connection, or to a fault in INTP Forum's software....

*googles*

"Many people know the famous anecdote of how Mill's maid accidentally burnt Carlyle's first (and only) draft of the French Revolution -- and how Carlyle, cheerfully consoled his repentant friend (and then sat down rewrote the entire draft from memory!)."

Cheerfully? A Calvinist? That seems unlikely.

'A Body Count To Rival Tarentino'

Bah, I can't forgive him for admiring a POS like Cromwell, but the old nut was Sunshine compared with those he left back in 19th century Scotland. And by the mid-eighteenth century the Kirk was nothing to the gigantic evil my namesake fought...

For the full Calvinist gloom experience try George Douglas's The House with the Green Shutters...

Review here, and Gutenberg here, but it's best to never read lit online.

I am at home now and logged in. I don't know if (a) you lifted the ban or (b) only registration isn't possible while blacklisted but posting is. (The former makes more sense).

Hopefully this thread helps anyone in the future.

Thanks!
