Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I am currently studying mathematics.

I want to know if I am wasting my time. I am attempting
to discover a general set of abstractions that can be
combined together to generate a larger set of abstractions.
The idea is that these abstractions can be used to build mental
systems which can, themselves, be used to arrive at quick and comprehensive understanding. of new and novel: situations,
information, and problems.

Any literature you could direct me to would be greatly appreciated.

No, I am not looking for step by step procedures. Although you may be on to something useful. Please elaborate if you believe your idea is more useful?

I am specifically looking for sets of abstract systems that you can use be used, in combination, to build lager abstract systems.

Goal orientated associative learning can be repeated upon itself several times to create more abstract associations, that's the great thing about a simulated neural net even if it dosen't know what it's looking at it'll still make an educated guess based upon whatever known thing the unknown thing most closely resembles.

Cognisant, please do elaborate. What do you mean by "goal oriented associative learning"? What is it and how do I actively apply it?
