I hadn't previously been aware of it, but it's possible this may be standard on this version of vBulletin.
Could also be to prevent trolling, but it seems arbitrary in regards to any situation outside of that.

Hm, Claver might know more, assuming he notices this thread.

Just write ''knulletryne'' and pat yourself on the back from having worked around the rules.

...but I'm certain I've seen threads around here with titles that contain expletives...

*wanders away to look*

*wanders back*

Conveniently there is a thread from today that uses expletives....Wait. You've duped us all haven't you fledgling? You yourself have made a thread title that includes an expletive.

This is a test to make sure I'm paying attention isn't it? :elephant:

The question seemed to be about user titles, not thread titles. In fact, threads and thread titles haven't been mentioned anywhere in here.

This is a test to make sure I'm paying attention isn't it?

In which case, you have quite clearly failed.

^Woah.

I thought this thread was about thread titles and expletives and didn't notice it was about user titles. Blame it on old age. I take full responsibility for not paying close enough attention.

You seem to need someone to rage at Mellly. Consider me your punching bag. If there's something I've learned in this desperate little life it's that I can totally take a hit. You can keep chatting me privately if you wish but understand that you have completely mistaken my intentions with this thread.

Bird knows that I was taking her request seriously and that I always phrase my responses to be silly. Yes? Well, I assume so.

I've seen the rule on other forums -- no hard profanity in repeatables like sigs or titles. Unlike swearing in a post, it inundates the forum; every time you make a post, there it is again.

Some usage might seem more appropriate or not the same as other usage; however, it's typically hell to moderate because there will always be members who will argue with decisions until there is a hardline rule to just point to.

I can actually respect this.
