It's become very obvious to me that the average INTP loves music over everything else. I was just curious as to how many people here actually go the next step and compose their own music? I'd be interested to hear other peoples work.

I myself dabble with ambient and psytrance (though psytrance is bloody hard work) and with a friend I also have sort of a silly rock band thing going on just for shits and giggle.

The ambient stuff is here: http://www.spraygraphic.com/ViewProject/5789/normal.html

The rock stuff is here:

and just for laughs I have some very old stuff here:

Enjoy. :)

Yes, I love music over almost everything else. I also compose bits and pieces on the keyboard, but nothing that I've ever shown anyone else :P

I'm addicted to music currently.

I'm a poet and lyricist myself.

I also listen to the radio a lot.

When judging (yes; that word) the excellence of music, I tend to put greater emphasis on the lyrics than most others would, and I'm considering starting up a lyrics criticism blog, but that could just end up coming into nothingness due to my INTPness.

casually playing guitar in my mental arena
Music is my saving grace. However, I usually find myself wanting to compose works above my level of ability on instruments I don't know how to play. That is, when I even get to making music. I hate having to take turns with all my hobbies. There's the reading, art, writing, daydreaming, music, ...

I find this. But more and more I find myself thinking about making music constantly and it's becoming a consuming passion. I'd like to eventually make a career out of it but I find being committed to anything so difficult sometimes.

I have made up many things on guitar, sax, and even drums; but i am only this year learning how to compose for an entire band. I find leaning how interesting because it helps me understand how everything works; i will probably never literally compose anything after this class though. Playing is the fun part.

I've written a piano composition, but never wrote it down. I remember most of it and can play the whole thing, however. My sister (a cello player) and I are trying to expand it into a orchestra or symphonic piece.

Hmm... I actually wasn't aware of this tendency. I enjoy music and listening to my favorite bands is an intensely meditative experience for me, but I don't compose or even play an instrument.
