Music as diary

Does anyone else use there ipod or whatever as a diary I've been doing it forever and have 12227 songs on my ipod and i use add to favorites to set the stage if you will as what i am feeling at that time and go back to that song to relive what i was thinking at that time. I have studdied in two different classes one in high school one in college to know how to listen to lyrics and decipher what they are trying to say. I am also a schizotypal so that might come into play.

Interesting idea but favorites are continuously heard so "special" meaning dissipates.

I suppose I do this in a way. I have playlists from different time periods (if you will) in my life, and when I hear a song from a certain time period, it's as if I'm back in that time period. For example, my last year of high school I lived and breathed 80s indie music, and when I hear something I know that's 80s indie, I 'see' any memories or feelings associated with my last year of high school.

frankly i hate listening to music with which i have an association to the past.
i don't like "reliving". i much prefer simply, "living".
