So, I am going to have a movie night with this guy I have been "dating". I am not sure what type he is.... He is quite introspective, feels misunderstood, is a talented musician and logical, but, unlike me, is excellent in social situations and loves meeting new people and learning about them. We have similar taste in most things.
In any case, I could be over-analyzing the details of this. I generally am bored with most movies. There are few movies I really love, or would want to take the time to watch. I have trouble with "suspension of disbelief" which is pretty much essential to enjoying most movies (except comedies, but I really dislike what most people find funny). All I can do are find flaws and holes in the story line that ruin it for me...
So what I want from you all are some decent movie suggestions. We are both the type to want to watch a movie as a mentally stimulating activity, not as background noise to our socializing. It should be enthralling, intelligent, not cheesy (unless its witty enough...call it purposefully cheesy I guess!), great acting. I am not much of a movie person so I really do not have many ideas.
To help out with the choice, I will say that some of my favorite films are Pulp Fiction, The Big Lebowski, There Will be Blood, Reservoir Dogs...I really enjoy most of Quentin Tarantino's work. Cohen brothers are pretty good too. Like I said, my exposure to film is extremely limited...I haven't seen MANY movies.
