Organized in my terms: I know where stuff is at
Unorganized in my terms: Alright, who "cleaned" my desk?

If my stuff is neat and organized it means I was bored. If it isn't that means I have better things to do than pretty up my living space.

Exactly, I usually start cleaning when I have nothing else to do. Think and "clean". And that is my typical response to people with OCD who tell me to pretty up my workspace. "I have things far more important than making it nice to look at. It is chaotic but in an organized way"

I never clean when I'm bored. I clean because I need to, for whatever reason. I went from living in a three bedroom house to a two-man barracks room, so keeping my stuff nice and neat gets screwed just making a sandwich. I just do dishes and put everything where it goes every few days.

Exactly. I have 'hurricane syndrome' as I like to define it. Everything I own could be spread out and skewed everywhere, but if I put it there, I know exactly where it is. Not just where, but when I need something, all I have to do is think about it and BAM in my mental catalog I know exactly where to find it...even if it's buried in a tangle of other things.
