Who do you have winning this year. Duke already lost to Lehigh! Holy crow!

My personal pick is Kentucky. Their overall record is tied with Syracuse's (33-2) but they're undefeated (16-0) in a damned competitive conference and they always have a wildly athletic/imported club.

Syracuse looks weak: they just squeaked by UNC-Asheville in the first round and they were extremely close at half-time to Kansas State. Please.

Let's hear your pick. Ultimately I'm unsurprised when a five seed beats a twelve seed or whatever because it's more about match-ups than talent on paper. So go crazy and let's hear something bold.

That actually may be the consensus on this forum. To answer your question, an annual college basketball tournament. Hardly of ontological value, but interesting nonetheless to some.

Of epistemological note: no it's not.

It's about sport, a vile ritual in celebration of barbaric impulses.

Barbaric impulses? Seems hyperbolic. They're not like eating babies.

Sure the sport is dumb but so are myriad aspects in this life.

Sport is a good way to exercise the mind and body. It's also a more productive way to settle arguments.

I should have put money down for Kentucky based on their performance tonight against Iowa State. Crap.

Oh gosh, the nice thing to do here would be to do a bit of research on this whole March Madness craze and be excited and delighted and engaged with you.
Unfortunately that would require mental energy that, at this level of fatigue, I do not care to spend.
In any case, Snafu, I don't know if you correctly selected Kentucky.
But I do know that Kentucky is a state. That is notorious for various sorts chicken and other side-dishes conveniently sold at several stores in your area.
And that it's to the south of my own state. And they speak in accents sometimes there.

So maybe! I hope you did. Find me later and I'll have a celebratory cookie to share with you despite the outcome.

Despite the outcome? What would the celebratory cookie be for then?

Why, either to cheer you up because you'd lost, as we would delude ourselves and pretend you won, or actually be celebratory because... because it would be!

Also, the very fact that you came to seek me out would call for celebration, as I would be ever so happy!
