My thoughts:
I notice that when I am in control of myself I can directly choose how I move.
-Anger wants you to move a certain way
-Sadness wants you to move a certain way
-Excitement wants you to move a certain way
But being in control means we can choose how we move.
When we are in control we can become aware, yes.
Awareness comes from being in control, and control comes from being able to inhibit and reinforce your actions. This makes the body and perceptions accessible.
Because anger, sadness, and excitement are all energy that emerges from certain conditions, those conditions are reactions that come from being unable to control the self.
I think that as one comes to control the self many processes come into play. We begin to take everything into the self whereas in non-control only a single part takes control.
The total system takes control not just a single part.
This makes it so that what pushes and pulls from the outside can be subsumed by the pushing and pulling from the inside.
