Hi, all. I am a new one to this forum but a veterean in INTP thought patterns. Not suprisingly I have been and still am interested in a bunch of specialised and remotely connected stuff that others find ''complicated'': astronomy, optics (used to build telescopes when I was younger), photography, CGI (I intend to go really really deep into this one), (for those of you that do not know what CGI is I cannot help), architecture (I actually studied this one), and loads of other stuff I cannot currently recall. This however has its downsides: I have almost nothing in common with other people, and it can be frustrating, as you must know. A few years ago I declared to myself that it is better to be alone than with those I do not feel comfortable with. Well, It has been a great ''success'', and thus I am a confirmed loner.

Anyway, what I have been thinking about is THE finding of other like minded individuals. To answer the question why, I would say that I am eager to have some sort of meaningful friendship, it is actually rational, when I think more about it. The action plan, however, is a complete disaster. It looks like I should just go about my business, attend university and go to work and just wait for some random appearance. Am I missing anything? Well, just to make shure, I have been going to a random selection of social get togethers, but people there are superficial and thus no bonding is possable.

Well, anyway I would just like if someone could point at my mistakes if there is any. I have been lost in my thoughts for a long time and somehow the ''real'' world appears to be increasingly alien like and vice versa.

*Points to a possible 'mistake'*

Perhaps less complicated to understand how these could be 'remotely connected'.

We learn, we share, we connect.

Welcome. :)

Welcome :D I just posted a topic about trying to learn photography (I'm crap at it), so you might want to share what you know :P

Ok, but this is a long talk. CGI stands for Computer Generated Image. It includes all sorts of 2d and 3d and even video applications. You must be familiar with it, since there are tons of films made with it. Iron Man, Prometheus and other films with any kinds of visual elemants that are not actually ''real'' will serve as a good example of cgi. Computer games is another field, as is product visualization. For me, it is architecture visualization. Well, because I have background in architecture and I know a thing or two about CGI, it naturally comes together, and therefore there is the connection. Photography shares a bunch of principles with the CGI, and there is the field of architecture photography aswell. You see, a good architecture visualization shares a lot with a good architecture photography. Same principles are applied. Well, I am by no means an expert in this or any of these fiels, dont get me wrong, but I try my best. Also, I would not consider my English to be excellent, so I am sorry if I make a mistake every once in a while. Well, it is my assumption that anybody really interested or in the need of the specific CGI stuff would have already searched the net and thus no explanation would be needed, I must be right, but I also agree that small explanation is fine for those unfamiliar with cgi. I hope I made myself clear this time.

See, that wasn't so difficult! :)

Thing is, a generic 'CGI' search yields 'Common Gateway Interface', Clinton Global Initiative', and an 'info tech' corporation that uses the acronym as its name, in addition to 'Computer Generated Imagery'. Your OP did not specify the particular affinity.

I provisionally assumed it was the latter, but I wouldn't have been surprised if it turned out you had a proclivity for common gateway interfaces. This is after all, INTPland.

That said, I vow to avidly read everything you're willing to share about CGI.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. I am as oddball as they come. I love mathematics, engineering and physics. It is hard to talk with other people about your thoughts without coming off as repellent. Although I do bump into people with a lot of talent, which only makes me want to strive harder. What do you like to think about exactly? I am very curious by nature so this should make things interesting if we have a common interest.
