I suggest this as an addition to introit or a separate sub: A place where only new members(6 months max?) can post, mods only to regulate or answer direct queries(?)

Still a rough idea so bear with me.
Many join. Few speak.
Add a message upon joining: New members can post on the entire forum, but for a set duration they have an added boon of accesing the space.

No idea as to ease of practical implementation. I posit that this act will encourage participation from the get-go as to joining then lurking ad infinitum. People will talk to others who have joined when they have. A new culture might grow sans guidance from extant members.

I post this on a whim, feel free to opinion give or enactibility dictate.

this could technically be done with just a solitary thread for conversation.
i don't think fresh members would make all that many threads tbh.
then there's me who skips all the introductions and just jumps in to post content so i would remain ignorant of such a subsection until i couldn't post there anymore.

True, true enough, yet we be still social organisms. I always like to experiment, and perhaps because I have enjoyed this forum in my youth I propose rectifications that may lead to something or another.

To see a flower of brilliant polychromatic bloom wither and die is a horrid sight, and all can justly blame me of indulging in vanity and melodrama.

Yet! The human spirit persists and as mortal beings in a seemingly infinite totality, change should not be expected or wished for, but driven hard before us like a herd of cattle.

If you look at the world today and through all of time, that which surprises and leaps over ponds like a drunken gleefull fox is what prevails.

Fossils are pretty, but buried, and the digging up merely shews what whas.
