The Ledge (2011) Great movie.
One flew over the cuckoo's nest - I appreciated all the metaphors behind it as it gave me a lot to mull over; Jack Nicholson is just an awesome actor as well.
The Russian movie? I've tried to watch it three times. Felt asleep before the movie ended all three times.
I saw that quite a while back for the first time with a friend, and I was thoroughly surprised by how disturbed I was with the way it ended (not that I was particularly surprosed by the ending itself),
Spoiler-ish: Others can judge if it's too much but to be safe I tossed it in here anyways.
I take great pride in that area of my life and to think of them just taking something like that just made me furious for some reason.
To contribute, the last movie I saw I think was GITS (Ghost in the Shell). I had searched for it a long time ago but found the series first and ended up watching that forgetting that there even was a movie. Felt pretty much like GITS:SAC I/II. Enjoyed it anyways though, I love that stuffs.
Rewatching Let the Right One In right now. Great Swedish movie, highly recommend. Haven't seen it since they showed it at the local indie theater a few years ago. It's a vampire movie that isn't really about the vampires.
Ahh, I watched that film last winter.. unfortunately, I fell asleep half way though (not because of the film, I was tired.) Should I re-watch it do you think?
John Ajvide Lindqvist said:I might just be the luckiest writer alive. To have not only one, but two excellent versions of my debut novel done for the screen feels unreal. Let the Right One In is a great Swedish movie. Let Me In is a great American movie. There are notable similarities and the spirit of Tomas Alfredson is present. But Let Me In puts the emotional pressure in different places and stands firmly on its own legs. Like the Swedish movie it made me cry, but not at the same points. Let Me In is a dark and violent love story, a beautiful piece of cinema and a respectful rendering of my novel for which I am grateful. Again.
Everyone should watch 'cloudy with a chance of meatballs'. That is the best animation movie I ever saw. My mom just bought it for me for when exams are done.
I'm such a kid.
Priest.
It was a really stupid/slow movie. Anthony Hopkins has done so much better.
(The?) Great Escape
I thought it was great for an old movie(in terms of being low tech unlike nowadays), not to mention I usually go in with low expectations of them. I thought the ending was too drawn out(especially if you didn't remember who's who), but it was capped perfectly.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Been wanting to watch it for awhile, finally did. I liked it, but it was completely different from what I expected; I thought it was about drugs/tripping. I wonder how many people would go through with the procedure in real life, pretty interesting.
Fantastic Planet(English title, French film)
My third or fourth time. It's a trippy animated movie from the 70s. Definitely a must see cult film.
Donnie Darko. Good film.
I was thinking about watching it with a friend who likes horror movies. Do you think she would like it? Or is it more of a thriller/drama?

Sasha Grey portrayed the fragility of youth with grace and refinement. Riveting performance.

Could you give us an in-depth analysis?
Yeah, it's really not a horror film, more a thriller. Best to check with your friend I'd say.
12 Monkeys
I enjoyed it.
I loved that movie. I thought it had a kind of slow burn atmosphere to it. Never saw the American remake, but it didn't look near as good (why can't Hollywood just leave shit alone?).Kairo (aka Pulse)
It's an apocalyptic japanese horror about ghosts leaving the spirit world via the internet to haunt the living. I think the underlying message of the film is about technology and how it is coming to alienate us in the modern world though. Like there's this one scene towards the beginning where a youth goes on to the internet for the first time only to find these images of depressed people by their computers popping up on his screen. It's an excellent subject for a horror, and very provoking, definitely worth a view.
The only reason I even clicked on this thread was to talk about INCEPTION!!
By far the best movie I've ever seen with "Limitless" being in 2nd place. I highly recommend anyone see both these movies. Inception was absolutely brilliant. The story had an interesting complexity that was consistent and engaging. I absolutely love innovative movie concepts and this fit the bill. Limitless was also great, when he took that pill it was like how I am when I am high just absolutely genius, although I am genius when I'm sober, I get even more so on weed.

Saw Hanna the other night and thought it was very good. It was like a cat and mouse thriller with assassins seen through fairy tale lenses. I liked the Chemical brothers soundtrack, too.
I saw Insidious last night and it had me creeped out for a while, but they took it too far and, in my opinion, abandoned the psychological terror for full on monster/ghost movie. It ceased to be scary to me at that point. Plus, they should have gone a step further with the ending.
On the animated front, Secret of Kells and the Illusionist were both fantastic.
