Desaparecidos are / were fantastic, its a shame hes got no intention of doing it again. Have you spoken to Conor Oberst at any length? I get the impression hes not very down to Earth when it comes to his fame, but like you say there are so many people who are literally worshipping him. i suppose its hard to stay grounded.
He was good at Benicassim 2007. thats the only time ive seen Bright Eyes.
Nope. I have talked to Adam Stephens of Two Gallants for a bit but other than that I don't go out of my way to talk to that many artists. Bill Murray also, he may be a genius but he's a complete dick in person. For a lot of people that makes his work less special. To me, him being an asshole makes me like him more. Their work is not a reflection of their personality and many of them are boring or uninteresting despite how good their work may be.
Four weeks ago we were at this micro brewery and this dude was sitting by himself so my friend went over and started talking to him and he came over. I wasn't too interested in him by his looks as he was dressed indie hipsterish. My friend asked him what he did and he said he owned this record store there. Now for people who live in that city it's probably the most famous record store. Immediately he was then above us and didn't want to talk about anything but the store. Tried to bait him into discussion religion, politics, relationships, etc but he didn't care.
A lot of these hipsters are so against "mindless drones" yet they themselves relegate into this boring, unwaivering existence.
