I'm just wondering how many of you guys here are on last.fm as well. http://last.fm being a great social music website. If you haven't already, create a profile and start "scrobbling". Scrobbling records what you play on your itunes (or windows media player) and creates a chart. These charts show your top artists, songs, albums, etc. It's a great tool for finding new music based on what you're playing now, and what other people are playing as well. I use the suggestions from last.fm to find pretty much all of my music, and I can't recommend it enough. Add me if you like finding new music all the time. People helping people.

Hey, I'm a god damn music addict, and been using last.fm for since 2005, and created 3 other accounts since then.. It's fascinating to see the progress and development of my musical tastes over only a few years.. Anyways, here is my most recent, I listen to a whole lot of everything.

there's already a group, and they seem suspicious. I'm not joining their group, so yeah maybe we should create an INTP FORUM FANS FOR LAST.FM (FUN) group or something.

I've used it for a while, but I havent bothered lately. Maybe I should setup MPD to scrobble tracks again....

The reason why I stopped was mostly cause I can't scrobble tracks from my mp3 player to it (I'm not using a iPod), which was my primary way of listening to music for a while.

Anyways my profile is http://www.last.fm/user/wtfhax , my music taste has changed a bit the last year tho.

//edit
I should really use this again, I already found a new artist I like within a few clicks... Funny how my musical compatibility is very low on all of you :(

I've gotten either "Low" or "Very Low" on the Taste-O-Meter with pretty much everyone so far. I'm not currently scrobbling much as my laptop is completely fried and the one I am temporarily using doesn't have my music on it, so I've been using pandora.com to listen to music, also a cool website for music lovers.

I know that in posting this I'm raising a dead thread, but seeing as the alternative is make a new thread, I think this decision is for the best.

Not too many people are a "Super" compatibility with as many artists in your library as you have. Except for that Conor Oberst I see. I've had the misfortune of being at a few house parties in Dundee (Omaha) with him there and he has all these little mindless drones worshiping him. Also I don't like his solo voice. I do like Desaparecidos though. Greater Omaha probably my favorite song.

Your musical compatibility with Elisaaabet is Very High

Music you have in common includes Yes, Dream Theater, The Mars Volta, Ayreon and King Crimson.

I like their sound, but all their songs sound the same. What a waste.
I know, I've only got two of their albums and I only listen to less than half of the songs often. Hermods ride to Hell is an excellent song though

Yeah, me too. I got With Oden on Our Side and Once Sent from the Golden Hall. Prediction of Warfare, Without Fear and Amon Amarth are my favourite songs... And pretty much the only songs I listen to anymore.

Desaparecidos are / were fantastic, its a shame hes got no intention of doing it again. Have you spoken to Conor Oberst at any length? I get the impression hes not very down to Earth when it comes to his fame, but like you say there are so many people who are literally worshipping him. i suppose its hard to stay grounded.

He was good at Benicassim 2007. thats the only time ive seen Bright Eyes.

Nope. I have talked to Adam Stephens of Two Gallants for a bit but other than that I don't go out of my way to talk to that many artists. Bill Murray also, he may be a genius but he's a complete dick in person. For a lot of people that makes his work less special. To me, him being an asshole makes me like him more. Their work is not a reflection of their personality and many of them are boring or uninteresting despite how good their work may be.

Four weeks ago we were at this micro brewery and this dude was sitting by himself so my friend went over and started talking to him and he came over. I wasn't too interested in him by his looks as he was dressed indie hipsterish. My friend asked him what he did and he said he owned this record store there. Now for people who live in that city it's probably the most famous record store. Immediately he was then above us and didn't want to talk about anything but the store. Tried to bait him into discussion religion, politics, relationships, etc but he didn't care.

A lot of these hipsters are so against "mindless drones" yet they themselves relegate into this boring, unwaivering existence.

How many hipsters does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Oh, it's a really obscure number, I'm sure you've never heard of it before.

In other news, ifelloverboard and nuzak40 both have high music compatibility with me.

Here's mine... http://www.last.fm/user/MegaPixelMusic

I haven't consistently listened while scrobbling my music. Plan to do it more in the future. Especially since it tracked the limited library of music I had on my laptop. I really should do a total wipe of my data...

My favorite artist is Hal Leonard... :o

I was going to invent a new constant and define it as the ratio of the number of hipsters required to change a lightbulb to the average lifetime of a compact fluorescent lightbulb, but I couldn't find a symbol appropriately obscure or ironic enough.
