I don't know why.. I am contantly doing that. Rethinking things for no practical reason, replaying conversations, restating or dimembering past explanations, working through a problem that's already been solved. I think its the curse of the INTP.

The curse and the strength.

I think the life task of the INTP is to work out how to make it a strength and avoid falling into the pitfalls of using this talent inappropriately so it becomes a curse.

Hmm.

might have to start a new thread.

Typical IN behavior. Don't worry. All of them live rather in their heads than in the physical world.

Or dishwashers

Why not?

LOL?

The point being is that we only think about questions. If we have no unanswered questions or unresolved problems, we have no excuse to think. A lot of people use the thought process as a defense mechanism to avoid 'being'_____. Being depressed, being bored, being frustrated etc. and etc. Some people 'worry' about things that could never be, just to keep thinking, in order to avoid having to 'feel'...

What is scary is that some people are, seemingly, able to avoid thinking at all. They are able to survive in a stimulus - response mode like most animals. They have no questions about life and they're not the ones with the problems... 'you' are...(?)

purple monkey dishwasher javascript:void(0)
Despite claims this phrase originated on "The Simpsons", it actually existed long before it was used in the show. The phrase is intended to portray the distortion of facts when passed from person to person.

Its use in "The Simpsons" was accurate; Bart starts a rumour by whispering to one person who whispers it to another, etc. By the time the rumour reaches the front of the crowd, the phrase "Purple monkey dishwasher" has been added to the end due to people mishearing the original rumour as it passed from person to person.

I had this problem a lot. You just gotta train yourself to think and act fast, or if you know what to do, just go and do it. Does take practice, but gets easier overtime.
The next time your thinking about something, you've decided what to do and know whato do, but you have an urge to stew in your thoughts more, get up and act. Like I said, it will get easier each time (though don't go downt he oppiite end of the spectrum and rush into everything)

There's a point in which I will just say "screw it" and not go back inside for whatever I forgot this time. I can drive just fine without my glasses, it's not like I'm paying attention to the road anyway...(No one else is either....Damn cell phones)

Wait, what were we talking about?...
