When you think about it it's really a lot of mental work to believe these things. It's impressive.

Interesting to see that women are more receptive to paranormal beliefs overall, that's been my experience anecdotally as well. I'd be curious to know why more men have positive beliefs around extraterrestrials?

The culture I was exposed to in the 90s had a good portion of alien symbolism to it.

I live only about 50 miles away from the 1947 Rozwell crash site.

What interests me most is the technology.

At a museum, I learned that alien metals can heal themselves if cut.

I like the colors of shiny silver in the ufo spacecraft.

The crystalline computer telepathically connects to the brain of the pilot.

They use frequency vibration in the antigravity generators.

This is connected to the way pyramids work, lol

Megaliths in forested areas remind me of the old caveman days.

Men are more interested in STEM because we like to know how things work, and by extension men are more interested in science fiction.

Aliens are not supernatural, we exist in a vast universe and it's unlikely that we are the first species to become sapient tool users, so it's perfectly reasonable to suggest aliens may have visited our planet once in the last hundred billion years.

I am astonished that so many men believe in astrology.
I keep having to remind myself that an IQ of 100 is the average and that the bell curve goes both ways.

I recently visited a 30-something woman who talks to cats.

Given that extraverted sensing can allow you to see the tiniest of motions.

And no tv existed for a long time in human history.

People could understand animals and communicate with them on a deep deep level.

Having a trained cat in the middle ages would make people think you were evil.

I am astonished that so many men believe in astrology.

It affects things in the same way all social phenomena do.

No laws of nature say to have elections every 4 years, but that does affect humans.

So Saturn orbits every 30 years, and Jupiter every 35 years.

Both of those are important years in human life.

Becoming a full adult and having a midlife crisis.

I keep having to remind myself that an IQ of 100 is the average and that the bell curve goes both ways.

I have interesting thoughts on IQ - but I see what it means for you to think this.

Astrology is similar to MBTI in what most attracts people to it, a popular way of delineating personality into distinct categories and in turn having a label to identify with. Pretty much everyone here has been into MBTI and subject to the appeal of that at some point or they wouldn't be here. I'm not sure I'd see it as idiocy but just a part of a human desire to understand the self and have something to identify with in ways that are popular and accessible.

Statistics for data sets involving millions of people, is subject to the Law of Large Numbers, which eliminates random subjective biases, such as if an individual is more gullible. Any data is indicative of objective biases (external pressures that make people more or less likely to believe in this stuff).

Probably indicates that mass media broadcasts a lot of programmes and science that validate belief in this sort of thing.

Interestingly:
  • The most prevalent belief for all groups is "that houses can be haunted".
  • The least prevalent belief for Canadians and Brits, men and women alike, is "witches".
  • The least prevalent belief for American men, is "that people can hear from or communicate mentally with someone who has died".
  • The least prevalent belief for American women, is "that extraterrestrial beings have visited Earth at some time in the past".
I wonder: Are most alien abductees in the USA men?

IDK about that. However, I do know that most interactions with "aliens" have a strong overlap with people involved in the occult, which is relevant here.

Witches obviously exist. People identify as witches (both male and female) all the time. Seems to be part of some sort of occult and pagan practice, which is a demographic that is rising in the US. It seems to me that identifying as a "none" (no religious affiliation that is spreading like wildfire in the US) is the entry point to being pagan or New Age or Satanic or anything except their (most likely) Christian roots. It's sorta like identifying as a none is the gateway to the occult and pagan ideas like Progressive Christianity is the gateway to atheism and "deconstruction."

All of this, is, of course, very bad news for someone like me. It is a form of idolatry where you make yourself the god of the universe.

Actually, it was the kings and queens of Europe who hired the alchemists to develop chemistry. These alchemists did interact with the Wickens but it was more about the Royalty needing the new technology of chemistry.

I believe that the government has UFO technology reverse-engineered from the alien crashes they found. Most likely if you see a UFO it is a government craft.
