I'm awful at introductions.

Hi all.
My name is Felicity. I am 16 years old, from Australia. I have tested as both INTJ and INTP in the past, but seem to have qualities that align more with an INTP. I enjoy observing behaviour, reading, running, and playing piano. I am studying all of the natural sciences, and have an interest in computer programming (even if I'm absolutely awful at it).

That is all.

Australia, cool. Which part?

Should we refer to you as Xenophanes or Felicity.

Anyway, welcome to the forum. I hope you find some of our threads useful or interesting.

You're on. :D

What a sport. I like you already.

Also the thread title. What's not what I think?

And you say you're studying all the natural sciences. Is that a college thing? High school? Just on your own time? Do people go to college at 16 in Australia? How do schools/education work there?

Ah yes. I had great ambitions for a fabulous introduction; then I tried to start and remembered how bad I was at them. Possibly more accurate would have been "It's exactly what you think."

And you say you're studying all the natural sciences. Is that a college thing? High school? Just on your own time? Do people go to college at 16 in Australia? How do schools/education work there?

I'm in my final year of high school. I'm studying biology and chemistry at school; but I'm more of a physics "hobbyist" and study the bits that interest me in my own time.

The education system in Australia is honestly pretty laughable. Most of the states have a different system but somehow everybody ends up on the same marking criteria at the end of their education without doing the same work or tests. However, we don't have "college" here; we just go straight to university once we finish our final year of school (and depending on which state you live in, you could be either 17 or 18 when you finish school).

Brace yourself for possibly my dumbest question I've asked since the last time I asked a dumb question:
Is there a difference between college and university? I thought they were pretty much synonymous.

It isn't dumb at all; or maybe it is  Either way, you've made me doubt myself.
Perhaps it is my Australian ignorance that led me to believe they are different; I thought I'd seen some sort of distinction across the internet that in America it was common to finish school, then spend 3 years at college before going to university.

Maybe? If you call undergrad school college and postgrad uni then that makes sense, but I would think of both of those as college.

In America we usually (I think. I'm honestly not an expert on what other people do. But as far as I can tell) spend 3-4 years getting undergrad degrees and then some people go on to grad school to get Ph.Ds and all that fun stuff.

That makes sense. I've never investigated the methods by which other countries educate their young ones.

Most universities in the United States have separate academic units and often those units are colleges. For example, at Western Michigan University, there is a College of Arts and Sciences, a College of Engineering, a College of Aviation, a College of Fine Arts, etc.

Thanks for clearing that up for us.

Should all humans who are disabled, too old or generally just vegetables be euthanized by law?

If you could remove any religion from the history of humanity, which would you choose, if any?

Choice: Fried dodo or Stegosaurus steak?

What is your opinion on the use of recreational drugs?

Yes.

The one with the omniscient being at the head... which pretty much covers all of them.

None of the above: I'm a vegan.

I've never used any; but I wouldn't rule it out for the future if the opportunity presented itself.

Your introduction isn't bad at all. Just look mine :kodama1:
I'm the same, mostly INTP, a bit INTJ.
What books are good for you? I'm searching for something good, yet can't find any. Any suggestions?
I love piano. If I had to choose musical instrument, it will be piano.
With programming I feel you (as much INTP can). Was studying programms that should teach a bit of programming, yet it was quickly forgoten and hardly usable basics.

You're introduction isn't too bad you just come off as impersonal due to not having an avatar and narcissistic due to having your name in your title.

Edit: Oh hey Felicity! What behavior do you enjoy observing the most?

You like afremov too? He's my favorite artist. The only one besides Picasso and the other ones that I know the name of, that is. I can't decide my favorite, but though they're all somewhat similar it's not hard to find one you really like because he's probably painted one with the tweaks you're looking for on one you might like.

My avatar is actually a painting by Victor Figol - although his and Afremov's works do look rather similar. I really like both of their artwork!

That's weird. I was sure it was afremov when I saw the umbrella and oil painted background. I'll have to check this Figol guy.
