Is it a good idea to share your goals and ambitions with everyone?

I usually keep my goals to myself. The only people who know my goals right now is my gf and my mom.

I think I do this because my goals are quite ambitious and with my history I don't want people to think I'm trying to show them up or show off. I don't want them to talk about me and say "Oh he'll never be able to do it".

Am I being to cynical? Maybe people won't judge me and will even support me. Sometimes I think I should just tell everyone so that I would be more motivated. It'll be like trying to keep a promise not just to yourself, but everyone else.

What do you guys think?

I will never tell anyone the details of my goals, except for maybe one pers-- no, nobody I would tell.

I mean sure I would say something like, "I'm going to write a book." If someone wants to know the details though, that converation will end.

I absolutely HATE people opinionating on my unfinished work; whether the opinions are good or bad. I hide all my artistical endeavors when I work on them, including schoolwork. Even though I know the teachers feel they ought to provide feedback, I cannot stand it. to a lesser degree, simple onlookers piss me off too.

so, that is my basic attitude towards sharing that sort of thing.

Oh, talking to a person whom you are fully trust about your goals, expectations and ambitions can probably help you to adjust them. INTPs are perfect for that purpose since they find flaws easily. They usually don't go on a personal level and only criticize the "project" itself.
When I have a new idea for a story or a philosophical concept I usually ask Fleur and/or Weliddryn and when they approve I put it my deathnotebook.

Yea you guys are right. Most people will not criticize my goals, but really criticize me for having those goals. Trusting my goals with just my gf and mom should be enough.

I suggest I could put the coordinate here but then
That also depends on how ambitious it is.
For example, if you want to make a new school of art, then that seems plausible. But if you want to build a time machine, people will looks at you with skepticism.
The key is to find people who has ambitions close to you (so for example you can find someone who want to build a teleporter) and share with them. You 2 can actually put it down to earth.
However, I can foresee it being chicken&egg problems.

It's sometimes a good idea, it can act as extra motivation to get them done. But for goals that are more personal, more important to you, it's probably wise to keep them to yourself, because others' opinions might cause you to give up.

Never share your goals...especially with anyone who thinks they can help.

My Goal is get the *beep* out of college.

Just TRY telling me I won't be able to do that. (Please, do it, I'm so Anxious to prove you wrong)

Sometimes, if you know you can do something and people tell you you can't, it's fun to do it.

But, don't get overwhelmed.

The only person who can really put a damper on my goals... is myself, if I think about them long enough.

Geez, I'd rather have life.

I mustn't be an INTP.

I just want to get this *beep* done.

Life is overrated. School is so much more peaceful. It may not seem like it, but you actually have much more freedom during this time. Go party it up while you still can.
