Is a GED worth it?

To understand my situation and narrow down what is happening here is the deal.

I live on Guam and yes I am Norwegian. It's possible regardless of some may think. Not a jab at any of you.

Guam is small.

Guam public school's are bad. Christian Private schools are pricey but I have the resources to handle that, however, I was pretty much told to leave during my 9th year due to my grades.

I failed in English and Bible Study (Wasn't much of a study...)

Ended up in a school for 10th grade and 11th grade which ran on a PACE system.

11th grade was different as I was homeschooled but still ran on the PACE system

I struggled and I finished the work. Senior year is starting soon and I have 3 options and one of them is taking the GED.

Is it really that worth it in my situation?

No idea what that is about but OK.

As opposed to not having a High School diploma? Absolutely yes. I've known people who did really well with a GED, it can sometimes come off as demonstrating a person too bright for the regular route. Sometimes it also shows a person too lazy, it depends on the person. Not having anything advertises a person who can't even get a HS degree.

Expanding my 3 options.

First one is go to that PACE school with a college-prep course of study whatever that means

Second is to go to another private school that offers a general course of study

then GED is third

You could pursue two options simultaneously.
You could take the GED as quickly as possible. You'll pass. Just keep it to yourself for a bit.
Keeping in mind the ultimate goal here is self development: You could also attend either school, perhaps the college prep route. If it turns out to be unacceptable: You already have a GED. That could, conceivably, make school more palatable, since it is something you choose to do rather than something you must do.
The larger issue is what happens afterward. What are your options or plans after getting either a regular degree or GED?

What this ^^^^^^^^^^^^ guy said.

I have a GED. But I had a plan. It is only worth it if you have something better to do with the time. If you get a GED, are you going to enter a junior college or trade school? Work for a while till you decide? what are your plans????? If you don't have a plan, and don't have a worthwhile employment opportunity, then I would suggest you just finish out High School.

In my experience doors close to you if you don't have either a HS Diploma or a GED. A GED or a HS Diploma alone are not a big achievement however they do absolutely prove that you can finish something.

Why limit your future options if all it takes is a few months and some tests?

As others have stated a GED is a fine option. I have known several friends who took that route instead of a regular diploma and they are doing fine but they all had plans to better there futures that they followed through after obtaining it.

Also i love Guam! Nice little island i spent a good number of months there during my childhood.

Is GED worth it?

GED infinitely worth it vs not having one at all [yes]

GED infinitely worth it vs spending[WASTING] life sitting still like a lump, with bullshit forced upon you [yes]

*This is assuming (and by the information given from your situation, not a bad assumption) that you don't have any AP/IB (free-ish) credits transferring over to college, or a free ride coming your way.

Ceteris paribus, I agree with TA. The only thing would be if you wanted to go on to a good college and parlay that into a high-powered career.
