Hello,

There is not real way of telling just my looking of the girls are INFP or INTP, although the latter is suspected, with a touch of ENTP.

They stand out a mile in a crowd. The rest are just baggage despite their looks. But the Earthlings (S) are not instantly attracted them. I wish I was younger. I saw one with a bureaucrat (ESTJ) and the match is not out of the question, but along came a IXTJ and the bureaucrat went for her and left the INTP out in the cold, although she did not actually know this because of her internal system.

I think she must have an older sister?!

Not many INTPs in my neck of the woods. I think I have only seen three in my whole life. This is a very small percentage and it is hard to think that we comprise 1% of the population. I don't think I have ever met a male INTP, although they could be hidden. There was actually a high chance of one in the pub, but he was nerdish. I think this is sex shyness. Crushed by a religious upbringing or bullying.

INFTs and INTJs are much more common. The INTPs just do not connect. Sometimes, I think they are fatherless girls looking for something missing. They sometimes end with right prats (ESFJ) just for the sex.

INTPs can be stuck up their own arse though, as I met a successful writer recently (she put on the black gloves of Bester), who was writing Ferret ENFP style, so she was not as good as she thought she was, although she had a lot of experience. I did not actually like her, but that is not the point of the message.

Come to think of it, I think there are probably a lot of damaged Dragons (INFP) going out with Bears (ISTP), but they could be Cats (ISFP) which are a bloody nuisance if they are pretty. Independent and about as faithful as a Cat. They have got nine chances, so by the time they are suitable they have a track record of wandering (satellite girls). I have heard the Horsemen (ESFJ) want to put them in a bag and thrown them in the river. Well, it is there stupid fault for picking them in the first place.

I think I want to go and live on Babylon 5.

the only thing i can think of is that I have seen ABSOLUTE zero students who are INTP. With that said, there is 1 teacher that I know is. (male)

however, i've seen all 4 INTP's INFPS and INTJs INFJ - and there is some differences.

one of my friends is infj, so it is notable how they act, they are kind of popular even when they don't really need to. and are nice, abit quiet, and well.. i don't know what else to say.


i've looked from afar, trying to make out what types girls are ( yeh im beeing sad but it's more interesting than looking at dudes and well.. )

i can see a difference in how they communicate, and it seems that i've seen a INTP girl... kind of rare to say the least... now, she was doing the same thing i was doing really, sitting concentrated in her own mind, and didn't talk like feely girls.


it's hard to really explain INFPS but i knew that there was a difference and she wasnt a INFP. They seem abit quiet, but emotional on a calm level really.

INTJ's i don't understand but they are easier to notice than the other types, because they kind of got a prominent J side.

body language may reveal something, but i think most IN's have pretty closed body language.


anyway, that makes 2 intps in our whole school of 900 something. But before then, i didnt know any either. they're either invisible, or completely different from me to the point that I don't see it. but it is not the latter i think, im sure it would be somewhat appearent really.

I'm pretty sure my roommate is a female INTP, although she could also be INFP... she's really hard to read.

I'd say about 90% of the math department at my college is INTP though, lol.

That rings sort of true.

IxxJs tend to use their secondary more to "do things" (Te or Fe) and are much more noticeable and imposing themselves on the environment. IxxPs usually withdraw, stay in the shadows and corners, and live rich vibrant inner lives collecting experiences from the outer world rather than investing back into it easily. Construction happens within.

I have never met another female INTP in real life.
I know three male ones, though.
(I met two in college and one in church.)

I've met 4-5 female INFJs,
no male INFJs,
4-5 male INTJs,
2 female INTJs,
2 male INFPs,
and 2-3 female INFPs.

Well, I'm an INTP female and my best friend (also female) is an INTJ.

There are actually alot of differences between us. Because of the J, she is more invested in the physical world. So I compensate by speaking my thoughts out loud. Which is often amusing for her.

As for conversations, I've learned to listen to someone while still entertaining thoughts inside my head. Unless they are talking about something interesting, then I just respond with the normal tendancies and add something if necessary.

She is more popular and confident than I am but I'm okay with that. Guess INTPs are just not as noticable because we seem alot more 'vacant' then the rest of them.

I have hardly ever met an INTP and one suspected one is low on the Perception score. He is an actor. Over fifty INTJs which seem quite prevalent.

Leo Sayer (then known as Jerry Sayer) may have been a INTP but I suspect the Perception score was again lowish.

Note, that I do not encounter many ESTPs, the Panther or Lion (Leo).

I think people do notice our oddities fairly quickly. Because the female INTP is uncommon, I suspect we are sometimes seen as exotic... or else some sort of curiosity or puzzle. (That is, from the POV of a different type. From fellow INTP/Js, I am more likely to hear "I've always felt like an alien, but you seem to come from my planet.")

Like the girl you mentioned, I doubt I would notice if an extrovert took an interest in me and then decided to go after someone else instead. Since I'd have undoubtedly ruled him out as a romantic possibility from the get-go, his overtures (or lack thereof) would be irrelevant noise to me, not worth the trouble of decoding. I'm more tuned in to the feelings of a fellow introvert.

I think INTP girls are likely to have fathers who have similar brains and who are not exceedingly accessible on an emotional level. My father is present in my life but shares nothing of his inner life with me. I am not sure that this has anything to do with the "something missing" that I feel I'm constantly wishing to find.

I can't speak for other INTP girls, obviously, but I find I have a continuous urge to bond with men in ways that men do not desire to bond unless they also have a romantic interest in me. I tend to alternate between periods of social isolation and more attention than I can handle, as I try to find a way to get what I want without engaging in affairs, damaging people, or giving men an inaccurate impression of my intentions.

Currently I'm of the opinion that what I desire is impossible to achieve. My romantic partner is a confidant of sorts, but I feel (perhaps unreasonably) that the purity of our intellectual relationship is sullied by the sexual.

So, yes. The concept of the INTP women wandering around, fatherless, in search of something they never find, is something that strikes a chord in me.

I did end up with an ESFJ at one point, but this was not something that was satisfying to me on any level. I did it out of fear and it simply could not have happened had I not been at a point in my life where I believed in figurative self-immolation.

This can be very dangerous for Men, bonding/transference/connections, when there are Guards and Wolves around. I am not sure that the Wolfman (ENTJ) understands as his fourth shadow process is emotional connections (my interpretation). These enemies will get jealous and prevent you seeing your connection. Keep it secret.

Conclusion: Freud was an introverted Wolfman, a Hawk (INTJ). Actually, the is a good possibility he was a speeded-up INTP (cocaine addict).

I take ambivalence as something close to an insult.

This sounds like the daughter of the Queen of Hearts* (INFP) and a Mongoose (ENFJ) which finds its missing part in the ENTP (Snake) and then proceeds to torment her lover to death, which really amounts to abuse. The Snake can feather out to Eagle (INTP) status if he has enough money.

(*Father can be anybody who will have her after the mayhem, probably a Wolfman, ENTP, who does not have Extraverted Feeling unless under terrible distress).

The real tragedy is if the Ferret (ENFJ) stay too close to her Mother (INFP) and is mistaken for her and gets lassoed by the Horsemen (ESFJ) who are too stupid to tell the difference between a Ferret and a Dragon.

The same applies to men INTPs. There is the ever present terror of the Horsemen (at least for me as they nearly killed me and have threatened me on a daily basis). Currently, thinking about the Vain Mother of Hearts and what she is going to do by proxy if I make a move for Andromeda.

Why the Horsemen are so dangerous is they misinterpret intentions all the time. It nearly got me killed. Bears (ISTP) often chose to ignore or see superficially.

This IXXJ is interesting and I call this the Secretary Bird. She can bring me out of my watchtower (Eagle perched on top) and make me slither in the grass down by the lake (if she wants to).

hmm, infp girls more comfortable, chatty, nice and hugative, and less likely to be seen alone.
im very similar to my infp friend, for a while in the begining i suspected she migth've been intp.
she's addicted to hugs and im allergic.
they're tognues arent so sharp either, just soemtimes covered in their own blood while they spit it at you (when they're immature) which can put people off.

Like some people already said, I think there might be something in this. I'm an INTP girl, and my parents are divorced, so I don't really see my father that much...

I have an INFP friend, and we just instantly clicked when we met. We're similar, but different. Among other things, she's just that much more social than I am. Must be that F giving her an interest in people, I guess.

There was this extroverted guy that I think may have been "taking an interest" not long ago, but I just wasn't interested... Um, didn't tell him that, though, which might have looked like me being oblivious to the outside observer? Later he and another girl got together, much like in your example.

Fatherless? Interesting... my parents divorced when I was six. I didn't see him for 3 years and when I did he was just a little crazy (read: messed up in the head). Eventually he got better and now we see him every second weekend. I was always a 'daddy's girl' because we had similar minds, whereas my mother and I were constantly at ends with each other.

I have a friend who's INFP, once we got to talking we became good friends really quickly. Surprisingly, she's fairly outgoing at it puts me at ease that she often starts the conversations. Because we're so similar I guess it was easier for me to trust her.

I've actually had the pleasure of knowing two INTPs in my lifetime. One is my female childhood friend (and has a father like described) and the other is a male acquaintance.
I'm almost 100% sure he's INTP because he has the same problems at school like I do. For example, he can't understand calculus either... and when asked why he said "because I have to know the reason before I can use it".

I'm kinda hyperactive in my class though I am an INTP. I just can't pay attention in class and wish for my friend to talk to me... but I am said as an 'alien' by my classmate coz they don't understand the things that I say... =.=

A number of teachers are annoyed by me b'coz I constantly ask them things that are far for the knowledge that they I have =.= which also annoys me. The funniest thing is I got a complain from one of my teacher to the diciplin teacher for asking too much question and claim that i am proud =.=lll

As for meeting ppl same type as me... I should say I hvn met any so far.. But I do hav a close friend who is ENTJ. She always complain that I always think things base on data and wander in my own world.. =.= n ask me to think more 'human'.... but it is kinda interesting talking to her~~ she can judge things that sounds reasonable~ XD

The Horsemen usually make ENFPs pregnant before they have left their teens. This is the biggest problem with them.

Information Centres are just as likely INFJ or INFX or INFP or IXXJ even. All are good.

The INFP girl I know and like, I originally mistook her for an INTP. Recently, though, I've realized there is an extremely intense emotional side somewhere beneath her surface that she rarely shares.

Wow this post is strange, but it is really interesting that you say that. I am in INTP girl and Its safe to say I have NEVER met a girl like me. I've never kept a girl best friend for long. All my friends are guys. I just get along so much better with them. I've even said things like "i'll never be able to find a girl like me in this whole world." So yes, if this personality type for girls is rare I definitely believe it.

That's also so interesting that you mentioned the thing about the father. I've lived with my parents my whole life, they haven't gotten divorced. But I've never had a serious conversation with my dad my whole life. He's a lot like me. He hides his emotions and so do I. I've never felt close to my dad. He lives there.. but we've never talked or been close at all. He's never even yelled at me once. So yes, I feel quite detached from my father. And furthermore, I'm dating an ESFJ and it's mainly for the sex. That's a strange coincidence.

I think I know an INTP girl, with some artificial E added. I say this, because she fits all the aspects of an INTP, and almost none of the ENTP(except the aspects that they share), but she's too outgoing to be a purely INTP.

I know an INTP girl. I noticed much similarities in our functioning even before I gave her the test. And yes, she really is noticeable, different. Then I gave her the test, and bingo- INTP. Ok. I know this forum is kind of dead but please! I'm an INTP girl and really I want a friend. So um please message me if your looking for a friend too because the problem with being the last of a kind is being the LAST of a kind. I remember I was deeply disturbed by the fact that there are only .5% of INTP females! Why are we so rare? I want to share my experiences with another girl and see what shaped us to be US. I hope I don't double post this. I'm an INTP girl, and I'm quite sure I've never met another one. It's lonely because I don't fit in with other girly girls, even though objectively, I've been told I look like one (which I find gross).

If I do find a girl as a close friend, she is often an IFTJ, who I find sometimes can be overbearing or close-minded (black/white) thinkers. I have some girls who are friends, but they are usually some kind of ESFJ/P, so we have nothing substantial to talk about. But they usually throw great parties, for the 1 time a year I want to go to one.

So, I've just resigned myself to being lonely and occupy time with research, reading, and basically scouring the internet, day and night. And, I agree with whichever girl INTP above said that men make better company.

It takes time for me to become close and involved in another's life and to let down that emotional guard, but yeah I have no problem with having conversations about my interests. Between two INTPs no one will probably take initiative to become closer, so it might take a long while before they both feel completely comfortable.
