I was talking to my friend about something like this and after around 30 minutes of explanation i finish my thought and he just looks at me funny and laughs.

Oh, yes definitely. so much so, that I have learned it's much wiser to follow my gut feelings than my logic. Especially in my relationships with people, (where I usually reach the wrong conclusion). I think it's very interesting.

I have a closer relationship with my Protective Subconscious than I do with most of my friends or family. When I don't listen to it bad things generally follow. When I do listen to it and it turns out wrong I'm backed up by the "better safe then sorry" rule.

I suspect this has a lot to do with our P-ness.

I've ignored it and nothing bad happened. Though I can't be certain my choosing to drive that day was the final push that made a Norwegian terrorist phone in on Alisa, telling her to destroy those monogamous towers once and for all.

I've also felt quite a few times that "today I'm going to die". I'm still alive, tho.

^I don't get those sorts of intuitions. Mine are more specific. At a specific time and place I get a specific feeling/intuition that I should or should not do something. Afterward I tend to analyze why I made the choice I did. It's not much help though since everybody has 20/20 vision when hashing over past events.

good point. i think a case like this is kind of different, when most of the reason for an auto judgement-warning is that the activity seems logically dangerous (maybe based on clearly present data), or is the unknown/something you've never done before

like i wouldn't consider that feeling going up the hill of a huge rollercoaster, the same spidey sense as this topic

It's natural for us INT types to overthink matters. Learning to trust the intuition is one of the most useful, balancing aspects we could possibly cultivate.
We can rationally approach the matter by realizing that we have systems to handle matters before we have a chance to think.
There are clear circumstances when we should rely on our instincts.

it is my opinion that the intuition is your subconscious telling your conscious brain the end result of something it has figured out. Similar to an INTP making a deduction and telling it to an ESFJ (as an example)

Many times I will make an intuitive leap to something and just know it, only to later on realize the logical reasoning as to why I could know that. Other times I never find the explanation.

I think that intuition is just a result of a stronger subconscious then conscious



also sometimes I'll be watching TV and I'll know exactly what they are going to say. and I am not just talking about when it is obvious. There have been times where I thought they were going to say something and then they say it exactly how I thought it, but it would be so obscure and somewhat random. and after they say it I basically do a double take. and think WTF I was actually right.

that reminds me one time in class the teacher was going on about something and was about to ask a question, and he sarcastically asked me what the answer to the question he was about to ask was, assuming I had no clue, but I answered the unasked question perfectly. He was so shocked he gave me a no homework pass (A pass to use to get me out of doing a homework assignment of my choice)
