introversion vs social anxiety?

are these two things neccesarily the same? im not particulary shy, but would typicaly prefer solitude than the company of others. similary, i have no apprehensions about talking to others, but find i dont now to have a continous conversation with some people.

They're definitely not the same but they can occur at the same time. Here's an example of social anxiety mislabeled as introversion.

Not the same, as illustrated. But it seems that social anxiety can help on introversion. It's not easy to see the bowl if swimming/drowning inside. And pretty much impossible to observe the outside.

If anxiety is strong it will probably be crippling, and make one blind on both accounts.

I have a low level of social anxiety and a high level of introversion. I guess that (lack of anxiety) is partially because I value my opinion (of self, actions, ideas) so much more than the opinion of any "random" person I run in to.
