I don't know if I have 5 best friends but:

My husband is definitely ISFJ. I absolutely adore him and he's the best husband and father to our kids.
My two best friends are INFJ.
I'm pretty sure my 10 year old daughter is INTP or INTJ.
My boys are definitely ESFJ along with their grandmother (my mother in law.)

My best friend I suspect is ESFJ, which seems odd since it is exactly opposite of me, but we've been great friends for like 16 years. Next best friend, INTJ. He is straightforward and kind of a prick at times, but when the chips are down, he pulls through. Beyond that I've got a couple of ISTPs that are fun or very annoying, depending on their mood. I have an ESFP floating around that gives me headaches when I analyze her life, but her warmth is sometimes very welcome. I care about all of these people despite our sometimes huge differences.

I'd really like to have more N's in my life, but they seem hard to find where I live and work. It's never ending sensors here.

My imaginary friend was an INTP, but he was a boring 'know-it-all' and didn't get my social queues to shut up.

I'm an INFJ female who has had INTP friendships (usually makes) spanning 15+ years... Primarily written/email correspondence. I'm interested in talking to/corresponding with an INTP who has interest in philosophy/arts/psychology and enjoys humor (our messed up kind, you know). Please message me if your interested in this kind of penpal dialogue. I enjoy your INTP brains so much.

Bold first post. I'd be curious how many takers you get. I've never really known an INFJ, so I'm curious about you as well. My first instinct is to assume this is a catfish ploy, you even have fish in your name. Hmmm....

I bet she is actually a humpback whale.

Or perhaps even a bear in a fish suit. Those bears are always trying to sucker us. Just like a bear to pretend to be a salmon, just to get up and close and all.

Can we have ONE thread in this forum that doesn't derail into bear attacks?!?

Boyfriend is INTP
(Ex was probably ESFP... why)

Best friend (guy) probably INFP. He took the test like two years ago and was ISTP, but I seriously doubt it.

Best friend girl INFJ who I don't talk to very often (I am not very close with other women, but there's this one I text..) but can have hours of conversation every few months.

Another guy friend is ENTP. Pretty much my go-to for philosophical discussions.

A guy who is so confusing that he's gone from calling himself ESFJ to ENTJ to INFJ now. I don't even know. He's a loud and friendly person who's also somehow anti-social. I guess, loud around his friends and wary of non friends, and will just up and leave if too many people show up.

Several friends are INTJ. They're always talking about interesting stuff, and in those conversations I mostly listen. They're kind of monologue-rs.

I have one friend who is an INFP. I used to have more, but I lost contact with them. They were most likely an ISTJ, an ESFP or maybe ENTJ and an ISFP. My brother who is an INTJ is the person I enjoy talking to the most since we have roughly the same interests.

Can siblings be best friends? Well, they are now!

ESTP - laid back, great sense of humor
ENTP - cocky but so much fun to talk to, convos can go on for hours
ISTJ - this one gets quite messy at times, lots of misunderstandings, but the one I'm closest to and knows me inside out, practically
INFP - recent addition to my circle, great writer and exchange of ideas (especially ideas of the soul)

For some reason ISFJs tends to find me. Good times and laugh.
ISTPs, well it is usually awkward for them later. I make them feel inept.
ESTPs are the ones to plot jokes on people. Nothing more.
ISTJs are the ones who like my Ne but off load their future worries on me.
INFJs are the ones that like me for wrong reasons.
ENFPs are the ones to talk something crazy with.
INFPs well I upset and impress them. Kind of nice but very constrained.
ESFJs are the ones to fill my Fe reserve but their lack of Ti and Ni makes it bit too laborious. Some of them say that I'm verbally too edgy.

I have 3 INTJ friends, with whom I share most of my ideas, theories and thoughts. And INFP girlfriend, and it's really a challenge to deal with F-kind people but I consider it an opportunity for growth. :)

Friends I've had:
ENFPs,
ENFJs,
INFPs,
INFJs,
ENTJs,
ESTPs.

I've noticed my best friends/close friends tend to be EJs and friends that I have a lot of are (N)FPs.

INTJ- basically i can't survive without her and vice versa.

INFJ- she's basically the one that keeps everyone together.

INFP- my go-to person for books.

ENFP- humor. Who doesn't love humor?

ESFP - she... i dunno how she came in, but she's been there for a long time.

INFP- great to talk to about life problems and ideas
ENFP- cool, adventures and it's always fun and funny with them
ISFP- I don't know how, but ISFPs usually make me so happy
INFP- chill and I really like INFP humour
ESFP- fun and energetic people..
Most of my friends are FPs for some reason..
I don't really know any NTPs so well, but they're my favorite when they're around. I guess when NFPs are my friends SFPs show up with them. But I value them as they accept me unlike some SJ /NJ cliques I know.
I've really good ENTJ friends though expect we fight a lot because she thinks I'm too much of a tomboy and I think I'm just being myself.
I really like ESTPs too, there's always another adventure with them.
I end up befriending ISFJs too, as long as they aren't too preoccupied with "being normal" and stuff.
But I think it's possible to be friends with any type.

My bff of ten years - ENFP - probably my favourite person in the entire world. Almost too good to be true, would probably marry in a platonic way. The kind of person that thinks my spontaneous ideas are genius and should be put into action immediately rather than telling me every way it could go wrong.
A lingering childhood friend - ESFJ - probably the weirdest person I know from my perspective. I don't understand how her brain works.
Friend I met online 1 - INFJ - very fun and easy to be around, very intense with crazy ups and downs, introduced me to drugs.
Friend I met online 2 - INTP - Great conversations. We're two very different kinds of the same type and I'm deeply fascinated.

I only know what two of them are for certain. One is an INTP. The other is INFJ. INFJ makes a lot of decisions I don't understand, but she's a great person to talk to and very thoughtful.

I only really have 3 close friends and I think they are ISTP, INFP, and ENTP.

The ENTP is my closest friend and is the only person who communication has always been effortless with. He has the typical frenetic energy of an ENTP and always finds interesting abstract things to talk about and is completely insatiable.

The INFP has a lot of common interests especially music and is a huge film/book nerd so we have plenty to talk about and enjoy together but I know I'm probably not "supportive" enough, not staying in touch enough, etc

The ISTP also has a lot of common interests but this is probably the one who annoys me more often than the other 2. We get along fine a lot of the time but then sometimes he does/says things that are just clearly not well thought out (IMO). He is definitely the most decisive one of the group though and we'd probably spend all of our time endlessly theorizing without him. :p

Mine are:
INTJ - endless conversations
ESFJ - a lot of misunderstandings
ESFJ
ENFP
ESFP

Too lazy to describe the rest. Never really thought about it, but many of my friends are extroverts.

My closest friends are INTP, ISTP and INFJ. I wonder if this INTP-thing is weird though; is it usual that you can communicate well with a person that has the same type as you?

I have exactly 1 confirmed friend who is an ISFJ

My tiny further maths class consists of:
- INTP (Me)
- INTP (Top of the class by a wide margin, Swiss, ridiculously laid back)
- INTJ (Ranks second on the friend scale after the ISFJ, approximately my equal in terms of maths, would argue with the teacher while the rest of the class secretly knows he's wrong, most sarcastic of the class)
- ENTJ (INTJ's best friend. Slightly better than the INTJ at maths)
- ISFJ (My confirmed friend, totally intelligent enough to be better at maths but doesn't have the intellectual mindset and drive. Enjoys my absurd logic Ne style jokes but reacts with Fe)
- ISFP (ISFJ's other friend, only girl in class. Has a ridiculously strong Fi and tends to be irrational and take things personally, very shy and reserved)

Who needs friends when you have the internet? :)

I wouldn't exactly go as far as to say I have a best friend.
I do, however, have three particularly close friends.
Two INFPs and an INTJ.

As others have said, I don't have five best friends, and I'll be defining friend as someone I click with and enjoy their company, rather than by frequency of contact.

1) INTJ - my mother, does this count? She really is my best friend.

2) INFJ - friend for 4 years now, interesting to have conversations with and widens my emotional perspective.

3) INTJ - lost her contact number but honestly such an amazing friend. Great for intellectual, scientific and philosophical discussions. I always need an INTJ in my life.

4) INTJ - only ever spoken to her online, but great to talk to and discuss theories and ideas with.

5) ENFx - fun to have around, needed one extrovert I guess.

Would love to be friends with an ENTP but have yet to meet one. INFP are also great, but too deeply emotional and not enough science and theory talk to be able to keep the conversations going - I just find we're on slightly different wavelengths.

Bonus friend) INTP - she's great to talk about hardcore science stuff with, but doesn't delve into psychology enough for my liking, perhaps because she's still pretty young.

Overall I feel I get along and click with INTJ the best, then INFJ I guess.

Really? I was hoping I wouldn't. This Te crap is a waste of my time. I don't like doing it and it sucks the life out of me, so therefore, I should do that.

I want friends that help me with finding my way in(to) real life :(

All i got are people who look over my shoulders, curiously entertained by my thoughts, like blog readers. And people who ask for advice. And people who ask me questions about myself, that force me to become more conscious of myself but are also a pain in the ass, because they are suggesting i should be the same type as the person asking and i am essentially forced to explain how i am different.

Those are mostly INFJ and INFP with the occasional ENFP or ENTP thrown in.

Perhaps i long for a dual relationship?

Its funny how mbti people assume that the dual relationship is the worst one, when socionics suggests its the best one. And the latter seems more plausible from a logical pof.

I have fleetingly known people who clicked with me instantly and mutually but were living very different lives.

The types of my 3 best friends

Ok, I don't have 5 friends, but here.
INFP- Twin Sister, we were made to be bffs and we do a heck of a good job.
INTJ- Known him since we were three, we rely on each other to be smart and it's great.
ENFP- She moved, but we got along so well in Ne land, and we still keep in touch.

I had an ISFP friend, but we got along horribly. I was good aquaintences with an ENTP, but he mived to Germany.

Even if her and I are almost exact opposites, she's the only person I can always stand.

Both my best friends are ENTP.
Very much so, one female and one male. One of them I've known for 40 years, the other just a couple of years. However, these are the people I can talk to about ...everything. Mutual understanding is not very difficult between ENTPs and INTPs actually. We share a lot of common traits and the differences, in impulsivity for example, likely benefits both parties equally.

Other types are exciting at first cause they are a new mystery but start getting boring after a while. And they always seem to drift away from my new speculations during conversations to talk about dumb boring stuff which oddly enough they find enjoyable.
