Does anyone else here have a dark sense of humor?
Quite often I find myself not laughing at things people find funny, but for example, there was this movie where a man fell down into a pit of snakes...
I could not help myself from laughing.
I think I laughed because I would hate for that to happen to me.

Then I have less extreme examples of dark humor with films like movies'The Dictator', the plane scene, for example, was hilarious.

What about at the end of that zombie film? Where there is the lift and the guy is just sitting down there half dead with his rifle, while his male + female friends go up without him.

Hmmm. Depends.
I do have have a dark sense of humor, but not really like the examples you gave.
I don't find other peoples' pain humorous. And unnecessary death/violence in a movie will ruin it for me.

I find dark stuff funny depending on the tone, and I usually don't share everything that zips through my mind in a day because some people probably couldn't deal. Juxtaposition of good/bad or expectations/realities can make me laugh regardless of what it is.

What did you think of Seven Psychopaths? (seems to be an example of a darkly humorous movie with lots of violence. Although Tarantino's works also are pretty darkly funny -- aka the whole "Marvin" scene in "Pulp Fiction" or, well, hell, much of the movie?) I laughed at everything in Deadpool, although it was so over the top that it didn't feel real at all.

Depends on the context. I tend to avoid it unless I know the person can take it. Sometimes it's annoying or disgusting when someone else does it.

I don't have a preference for it, I'm simply so bad at english humor that I try to be funny whenever I see the opportunity, some things turn out to be dark.

Oh I meant sense of humour as in my perception of humour or what I find funny
I'm pretty embarrassing to be with irl because I get compulsive fits of laughter over the stupidest things :P

Anyway I'm not really big on dark humour, i tend to find it repulsive unless the situation is really absurd. ..
For example I found the story of the amputee veteran who slipped through the seat belt while on a roller coaster ride really funny SORRY I CANT

Yeah, that's actually kind of sickly funny.
Unless it's your grandfather or something.

People are odd that way. Things can be funny unless we have an emotional connect to it, and then it can become repulsive.

...Although if I were an amputee and slipped out on a coaster ride, I might actually laugh on my way to the ground because of the absurdity of it all. Is that the difference? That I could still find it darkly funny even when it's happening to me and not someone else?

haha...same. Sometimes I laugh at horribly absurd, tragic occurrences. I really can't help it. I've had to suppress laughter at a funeral a couple of times because of some random thing I find funny, considering the circumstances. It's like a way to deal with things in life.

I do like dark humor that makes jokes about the absurdity of life and about death. I am morbid like that.

***edit: I would just like to add that I dislike ignorance that tries to pass as dark humor.

A friend told me that another friend was killed and I almost, very nearly almost accused him of just saying it as a joke. I'm so glad I didn't because it was true and that would of been an abaurdly awkward and terrible situation. Its strange the mental leaps your mind does in uncommon situations. I actually remember feeling the humour of the situation (total misconception on my part) and half smiling before realizing how awful it was. So I guess my humour is dark if I assume people to stoop so low to begin with.

I remember when I was 11/12 I could not stop laughing during a 1-minute silence for the soldiers who had died for us, also when the trumpets were playing.

My former friends and I heard the music on various other occasions. That time, we gave many of the songs sexual connotations, which sort of explains why we were laughing.

I very specifically tend to lean toward dark/black comedy and dry humor. I showed my ISFP friend some of Jim Gaffigan's stand up, did not understand/enjoy it at all, while I am completely unamused by the slapstick comedy that he enjoys.

Gaffigan's humor tends to be silly/goofy humor. I like that style, but yeah dark/black comedy is a bit different. I like Louis CK a lot too.

I don't think this constitutes as dark humor, but I tend to laugh at the mundane a lot. Someone has an utterly predictable response to something and I will give a little giggle. That's weird right?

Well, in terms of morbidity, yes. I find that I am able to find humor in almost everything (if I try to), but I rarely feel the urge to laugh. It happens often. Someone tells a joke. I understand how and why it's supposed to be funny, but I don't feel the urge to laugh. It's not funny enough, I think. Yeah, people tend to think I don't understand. When I break it down and analyze why and how it's funny, I end up ruining the mood. But yes, I find darker themes quite enjoyable hmmm

I say this with experience: fake it till you make it. Does a world of good.

In a way, yes. But I don't laugh at people who are in the midst of pain. If anything, I may smile in a sad situation that I'm suddenly stuck in as a defense against not knowing how to react, e.g., "This shit is real! It's surreal real! What do I do?!? (awkward grin!)" But I don't laugh at the people for any reason.

However, I do laugh at hypothetical macabre. Every year I get an Edward Gorey calendar in which every month one child or another (maybe there's an adult, but I can't remember off hand) meets his or her untimely demise in rhyme in spooky line drawings.

:rip:(Hey! A use for that emoticon!!!)

I missed tihs year, though.

Also, I have ZERO patience for people who have "trigger words" for human interest humor that we can all identify in in some way. For instance, if there was a comedian who made a joke about diabetes riddled man who fell into a vat of sugar and the only way to save himself was to eat his way out and a hilarious death ensued, I would become agitated if someone said "My CHILD has diabetes and I don't find this funny... bla bla bla!" as if that one person owns all of the human experience--and diabetes.

Laugh at people? No.
Smile uncomfortably? Yes. (I can't help it and I will try to hide it.)
Laugh at hypothetical demise? You bet. We're all human.

A 17-year-old black kid was killed over an argument concerning chicken, anyone else find this funny?

OK, that's funny for myriad reasons:
1. We're not supposed to notice certain factors.
2. We're not supposed to think it's funny.
3. You can't make it up.

Every year after a major holiday there are stories out about all races of people who got into deadly fights over the turkey dinner, the TV volume, etc.

And it is hilarious. Even funnier is when the weapon is unlikely or cartoonish like a remote control, samurai sword, a vase, the turkey itself.

I laugh at :
1. People's reactions
2. People's idea of Success on the surface
3. Dumb people
4. People who look like their pets
5. Sometimes the way people dress
6. All the end times prophecies and people who believe whatever comes from TV
7. People whom make every effort to figure you out and analyze you but epic fail
8. Nepolean Dynamite
9. Jokes that are really an IQ test
10. Just for Laughs show

And most of the time I am just kidding and people take it seriously but those that laugh are intelligent and the conversation continues.

Humor is not indicative of intelligence. (this is where I would put a sherlock emoji)

Not sure really. I mean the other day I saw a black guy walking down the street with a TV and I thought, "isn't that mine?" - then I realised mine was still chained up in the basement.

I'll laugh at my own expense (I mean it depends on the situation but I have a pretty self depreciating sense of humor) but not usually at the expense of others.

Attempt at examples:

Me: "I'm trash, hah"

Friend: "I'm trash, hah"
Me: "lol yeah same"

Friend: "I'm trash, I hate myself"
Me: "no fren you are great"

Person: *calls me trash*
Me: *stares blankly, maybe blinks. Perhaps I will nod.*

Person: *calls my friend trash in a mean way*
Me: "stfu asshat" *comforts friend*

And I can laugh at stereotype related jokes because I know that stereotypes are mostly bs. But if the person telling the joke is serious I don't find it funny, I'm just like 'nahh son you ignoramus'

So like
I'll laugh at/with people who are okay with being laughed at.
But I'm not one to laugh at someone who doesn't want to be laughed at.

I can giggle/laugh in absurd situations where I am absolutely not meant to be doing this. I think it is the pressing seriousness that sets me off, because I find it difficult to take serious things seriously when it is expected, i.e. funerals :ahh:

Does anyone else feel this way?

1. Laughing at a thought that was there or you happened to remember it again. And makes you laugh. "People may think You are crazy because you laughed out of no where".

2. The stupidity of some jokes i.e. "A guy was walking, he stumbled and fell into a ditch." is a funny joke

3. Having BBQ/party at a graveyard

4. Jehovah's Witnesses or religious beliefs that make no logical sense like Birthday celebrations are not allowed, but celebrating the death of Jesus is allowed. Jesus is savior but they are happy he died. And they celebrate it. But not birthdays.

5. This book says it is the word of God so it must be. Religion is for stupid people.

6. I find people that mimic TV characters to be stupid and funny at the same time.

The last time I went to a funeral my BFF (an INTJ) was there and I said something funny and she started laughing quietly and I just whispered "we can't giggle it's a funeral" and then we stared at each other for a second and started laughing
We had to leave the room

I laugh in the mornings when my dad´s watching the news and something about war or murders pops up. He hates that
....but it only makes it funnier.
