Any of you INTPs like cooking? I love it lol. I treat everything sort of like an experiment, and I have multiple jars of random sauces and concoctions in my refrigerator. My wife gets very annoyed with me when I'm in the kitchen because I get so focused and tune everything else out haha. Im new to the forum, so hi everyone :)

I like baking/slow cooking more. I like to be able to walk away. Having to stay near a simmering pot is so hard sometimes.

Though to distract myself to stay IN the kitchen, I do dishes while cooking. This solution has cut down my burnt meals considerably.

I've been doing quite a bit of experimenting. I never stick to a recipe except in baking. I usually read a recipe in order to understand the process, but improvise from there out. I love eating, and I love seeing how cooking happens, but it's also too time consuming to truly enjoy.

Anything that takes time is somewhat annoying for me because I like instant results, but when I do take time its worth it :) I never stick to a recipe either, usually just read a ton of different recipes to get the general idea and go from there.

I love cooking and baking!! Mostly because I love eating it afterwards, but the creative process is totally fun too.

I love experimental cooking (especially when it pays off).

Recently, I was looking over a steak I was planning on cooking whilst holding a rather large glass of whisky (it was more of a vase if I'm being honest). During this initial stage, I somehow managed to spill a rather large quantity of whisky onto said steak.

This accident gave me an idea and so I took the steak and placed it in a bag and added quite a bit more whisky, some crushed garlic and a little crushed ginger. I whacked it against the table a few times (and then I did the same with the steak - ho-ho!)

I got an onion and sliced it to pieces. I placed them in a bowl and covered them in balsamic vinegar, a little bit of honey and a sprinkle of thyme - I have no idea where this combo came from.

I then made myself a jam sandwich and let the steak and onions soak in their respective marinades

And Sweet Jeebus! - That was a tasty meal the following day!

Alcohols tend to make yummy beef, and so does coke, but you may still want to use oil and vinegar with the coke anyhow. I don't think I could take a beef seriously without garlic used somewhere prior to cooking. I also hate when someone's scared to use salt. Don't use a balls-ton, but a little bit of salt is basically necessary for any meat. I also haven't found anything for noodle boiling that works as well as a little salt. Be careful, though, too much makes just as bad a dish as too little.

Doesn't help with the "don't stick to a recipe" though you can modify.

I can attest that the microwave, mug brownie recipe is amazing.

Not particularly. The only thing being Really Rich means to me (say 10M+) is that I could afford a chef to take care of that. I enjoy food well enough but I'm not really into it. As an INTP friend said once when looking at cookie he was deciding whether to eat "well, it will just be shit in a day anyhow".

In an empty apartment.
I love cooking for others, but those are rare occasions. I don't like cooking for myself, but that has to be done everyday.

Oh, cooking, like food. Gotcha.

Yea I like cooking. For some reason I've been into shrimp lately.

Shrimp Diablo

-Jumbo shrimp
-jalapenos (halved)
-bacon strips (blanched 1 min in boiling water)
-teriyaki sauce

Cut blanched bacon strips in half. Place one jalapeno half against one shrimp, wrap with a bacon piece and secure with a toothpick. Place all of the shrimp "brochettes" into a bowl and marinate at least 30 minutes covered in teriyaki sauce. Broil 5 minutes and serve.

But she gets to eat it after!

I'd created a thread to post pics of meals you've cooked, but nobody seemed interested. P'raps you can do something more fun here.

I have zero interest in cooking. Eating is just refueling, I want to invest as little time in it as possible.

I've started cooking more since I started a new diet. It's fun to try new recipes, but only once. If I make a successful dish, I won't make it again usually. Then it just gets boring.
