Okay, so I extended the hint on the last remaining question.

To avoid any ambiguity about guessing or partial answers and so forth, I need the exact date on which Ava was born plz!

Sorry about this, I just realised that this question is horribly broken and beyond repair.

I will explain later, but now I just made the hint the question.

I done fucked up, sorry.

Could the Ava question be considered a "hint" at all for this new question?

Wow, group theory! We're not going there.

Were I to ask a question on that it would be about ...

So not the answer.

(Also the above video doesn't help with the question :P)

Could the Ava question be considered a "hint" at all for this new question?

They're related.

In a bit of a plot twist, C.J.Woolf on INTPx got the retired question (ⰌⰅ) correct. :)

I'm still going to award 40 points. The image has not yet been explained (the question stays open).

Okay... It's symmetrical and could be seen as a repdigit because it's all one thing (nurses in blue). In fact, it could be seen as a repunit because they're vertically-shaped, like the number one. These are related through the number 111, which seems like a possible birthdate for Ava (january 11) since the day of the message was jan. 10. Probably not right, though...

Wow! Never heard of a repdigit before. The answer is not that technical. :)

is the question now an extension of the original one or would it be possible to answer it without having seen the original?

It would be possible to answer without the original question.

I feel we need a hint on that one, there's like a million things that can make the pic notable :)

They're mirrored, and the floor is smooth... like a mirror's surface.

Could it be because she was born on a palindrome day? October 2, 2001 (10-02-2001)
Or at least, anything to do with palindromes?

Piggybacking on Rolling Cattle... Not only could the pictures be considered palindromes, but they're even palindromes. Just like 10/02/2001 is an even palindrome. Ava said it was more special than that day, which, with a time zone difference, could be 1/11.

I should clarify that an even palindrome is a single word (in this case picture or number) doubled backwards. As opposed to an odd palindrome like 111, which you can't get from doubling backwards.

Well, don't I feel silly now. Something was nagging at the back of my brain about the racecar...

Yep, essentially that was what I was going for! C.J.Woolf got there on INTPx.

I decided to retire it (beforehand) because there is nothing to suggest DD-MM-YYYY or MM-DD-YYYY, which were the formats the question assumes. But you could easily have something like 19-11-91 as well.

Not even palindromes, no.

Nurses Run!! Race car!

Correct! 40 points.

This year's trivia contest numbering system (Glagolitic) was brought to you by Old Slavic.
Old Slavic: for when New Slavic is too understandable.

So yeah, there were some complications with the last question and the chess one and one or two others, but all in all, it was fun hosting!

I hope you all enjoyed the contest!

Hey, fourth place's not bad... @Utisz Thanks for taking the time to put together these questions, though; I had fun trying to puzzle them out. Good game, everyone? (Not sure if that's applicable to things like this, but oh well)

I think the quiz may have been timed so I couldn't join for most of it. I was busy the past few days after it began. Couldn't really spend that much time looking at the questions, although being able to answer them as fast as possible would be considered a good sign of efficient thinking, and logical puzzles to solve. It wouldn't correlate with increased arithmetical abilities a priori. Intelligence is ability to adapt. Ultimately, as long as an organism mates and has offspring using any method or even opportunity to do so, they win, and in some ways wouldn't matter if they kept living after, not that there's some spirit or reincarnation, but they did what life does, reproduced. So it would be as if they'd technically have to have as many kids as possible, not that that's explicitly the goal or even implicitly desired, yet, there's room for certain people to practice so called polyamory or gamy. Most societies have complicated marriage rules, though, so it's as much effort as the work is worth, the "reward".

Maybe next time. :)
