hi,

i have read some posts / articles that discuss that due to the complexities of relationships, and nature of the working world, INTPs in general end up following their own path or become less focused on their work in the formal sense.

do you agree, have others done this, and if so how?

i am currently looking for another role, and although on paper i have done well career wise, i just dont have that desire to push up the chain any further, bar it would be nice to have more cash / security but purely so i could do other things

thoughts?

apologies if this is a bit of a ramble

regards
Mark

Figure out what you want. Then figure out whether getting promoted facilitates or frustrates that ambition. Easy.

INTPs tend to be happier as freelancers, entrepreneurs, founders, etc, though I'm not sure how they overcome poorly-timed bouts of lethargy or procrastination. That is, I can see those being much better routes (especially after working in corporate environments), but I don't know how it would all work out if I had to rely on my ability to do things. Maybe their business grew to the point they could hire others?
