Hi, I've been into studying the MBTI for the last couple of years, although I've known of it for years. I was tested when I was at University and tested as an INTP. I read the description at the time and although some things were accurate, others weren't and the whole picture didn't ring true for me, so I didn't put much stock in the MBTI as being useful for me.
A few years ago I checked it out again and found out that I'm in fact an INTJ. Since then, I've been spending a lot of time reading about the MBTI and I find it useful for not only understanding myself, but others as well.
The reason I think I tested as INTP while at uni, is that I don't mind open-ended thought at times and while studying at uni, constant intellectual debates, not necessitating "lets get this done" outcome were the norm.
When it comes to my personality though, I'm definitely a problem solver that looks for solutions, while still appreciating the INTP approach.
Anyway, that's why I'm here. I like INTPs (generally speaking of course).
