As an INTP, I know that I get completely engrossed in things(MBTI). Generally, when this happens, I get to know lots about the subject at hand.

So, I'm guessing many of us are well rounded on many interesting topics. So I've put one link to an interesting thing that I know lots about.

I encourage you to check that out and to post some intriguing things that you've been into lately.

+1 for Lucid Dreams, I would be game for chatting about dreams and alternate dream states.

Recently, I've gotten into Greek Mythology, Astrology, Ancient civilizations, and Philosophers, plus many other things.

Very much into the Golden Ratio, psychology, marketing, art & design, aggregate information processing(e.g. stock market), economics, and poker.

Decision modeling, and operations management is something that I plan on getting into again soon.

About a year ago I was having some insanely intense lucid dreams. Sometimes I felt this intense vibration throughout my body which scared the hell out of me. I searched on the internet and people were describing astral projection. Have you ever succeeded in that? I don't think I ever succeeded.

I've come close if not actually there. It's called a WILD, a wake induced lucid dream. I sort of went through the transition into the dream state. It was unstable so when I stood up, the dream destabilized. I rubbed my hands together to stabalize it and I woke up.
I've never had an astral projection, although I am interested right now.

This is sleep paralysis, OOBE, astral projection, etc... People associate this with demons, aliens, ghosts, and many other things.

There are drugs that can trigger them. DMT, Melatonin are the two that people use the most often. They are both from mushrooms...

I can do it pretty much whenever I want but I have to be in the right state. You have to be tired to put your body to sleep, but your brain must remain concious.

The best way to trigger it, is by trying to exit your body. You can imagine a rope, and pull yourself out. I mentioned in another thread how I imagine myself rolling down the hill in a tire to trigger it. Sometimes I just imagine myself trying to do situps as fast and as hard as I can, twisting and jerking randomly.

Basically, get some melatonin, drink lots of water, exercise earlier in the day, and try one of the techniques above and you can get there again. It's difficult, but possible.

Binaural beats are another way to aide in this (get the correct frequency, use stereo earphones and not speakers). There are glasses with led lights that people use to trigger lucid dreams. Lots of tools available if you do some research.

Typically, if you eat healthy, exercise, and drink lots of water you can get there easier. If you smoke pot it's almost impossible. If you remember the feeling (usually feels like somone rubbing on your spine), then you know when you try triggering it. It's an opportunistic approach to it. Just try to pull yourself out without moving your body very much (a little is okay, just don't lift anything so much that it's not resting on a surface).

If you get stuck in your body, it's terrifying. You feel things crawling on you, and you see figures at the edge of the bed. It's probably similar to doing shrooms. If you exit, you can pretty much go anywhere that you want. It's the opposite of lucid dreaming because you are outside of your body meta-physically speaking. If you just "go with it" nothing bad ever happens and it's a lot less scary. It's a reflection of your mental state so if you are in a dark place, it will be demonic, if you're in a good place, it will be angelic.

Good luck! Have fun!

To save you some time, I would say to not worry about ranking on Google. It's too big and really competitive. Use what you learn about SEO, and apply it to smaller networks (not search engines).

Niches are the gold, SEO is a huge waste of time. After something takes off, the rankings will happen. Rankings are the result of hard work and dedication.

People are more attracted to stories that have value, and are written by someone truly interested in the topics. False content for SEO, even if it's well written is not a good thing. People notice and feel uneasy, never to return.

SEO is like swimming against the current; you will keep fighting and lose more distance than you gain. It's the fools gold of the internet.

I do seo for local businesses so maybe its not you're thinking.

Seo is really just being a good webmaster. Google set forth guidelines to follow if you want to rank highly and its just good organization and structuring of your website so they can crawl it easier and users can navigate it easier.

Another component is good marketing and promotion. Seo could be sem, but they're intertwined. The best writer in the world will get nowhere on the serps if there is no link popularity.

So its a cool business to be in. An incredible amount if misinformation and deceit out there for it omg.

And yeah, unfortunately I have seen a lot of spam too but I trust in the process for it to be rid of. It certainly adds no value and shall not be rewarded.

Lately I've been into all kinds of Solitaire (with 52, 40 (baraja) and 78 (tarot) card decks), modern weaponry, biking, video game speedruns, cancer research, smoking pipes and hookahs, and lucid dreaming thanks to a post by Belak from a few days ago (not in this topic).

Could you please explain?

But yes, marijuana seems to greatly reduce dream capability for some reason. I've searched a bit online though and some people say it makes their dreams more intense while others say they actually smoke weed because they have nightmares and want to make them stop. I haven't tried to see if melatonin helps during a weed binge though. I'd say in a way the smoker is sacrificing the dream state for current immediate benefits that vaguely resemble a waking dream state (which probably has to do with chemicals released in the brain; there was this weird study that showed melatonin levels significantly boosting in men who had just smoked a joint but details seem scant). It also seems with a developed enough tolerance dreams can occur but I would imagine with a lesser quality than in someone who had not been smoking. So do the benefits of smoking pot outweigh the con that is a probable prolonged reduced dream experience, well do they?

SEO for local business is a narrowed demographic or niche market, so it's basically what I was suggesting. It sounds like you have a pretty good handle on it, and you can ignore my comments as they do not apply to you.

Personally, I focus on the psychology of development more than marketing or structural organization. You get way more return for your time investment.

Yeah that's a benefit of entrepreneurship, you get to decide what to focus on.

If you'd referring to the psychology of development as the big picture of the business it's almost as if marketing and organization would be entailed in it.

Or maybe its like Google's advice: do good work, provide good value, and your rewards will be found. Links in that context, endorsements and more business in another.

Or maybe something else altogether, a Google search for the psychology of development was talking about the lifespan of a human lol.

Just one example of psychology in design. My photo looks towards my post, which controls the direction of the readers focus.

There is a study where a diaper advertisement used a front-facing baby vs. a side-facing baby. As you can see from the heat mapping, people focus on the face when it looks towards the reader. And when the baby looks towards the title, they sell more diapers. People want to know what others are looking at which causes them to focus more on the content than the baby in the following example.

And just for fun...

No, I mostly play at casinos. They typically only have variations on Texas Hold'em. Nothing like this. Also, there's not really any money in playing home games even if you win consistently.

Chinese poker sounds interesting. If I knew there was a game locally, I would try it out. It sounds complicated but I would probably get the hang of it after trying it out.

I have played a few local games, including one that I found on meetup. I don't really have many friends that are interested enough to put a game together. Not trying to sound cocky or anything, but I think that I have an unfair advantage at home games. I would likely win a home game just by playing a basic strategy. Even with 18 people at a home game with $5 buy-ins, winning wouldn't pay more than like $50-60. It would be fun, but I typically consider $5 to play with friends a good deal vs. what it costs to see a movie in the theater. If I had friends who were into poker, and would play for $20 buy-in, I would tear it up!

The sad thing is... I haven't even had time to play in over a year.
